We looked clueless on how to deal with Milan's pretty basic tactical switch of playing 2 up front with one behind. The subs killed the game.

Once again we take a lead and let is slip with amateurish defending.

45 minutes of solid football. Not glistening, unrepeatable big game football but solid, regular play against good not great opposition.

Overlapping runs and covering showed understanding between players. Passing was good. Defending was fine. We scored a goal.

Midfield FINALLY making sense. Locatelli, Thuram and Koop all managing to work well and get good performances out of each other. As a result we overran Milan in the middle and controlled the game.

That's the blueprint. Study it and fixate on repeating it as closely as possible in future games. Do NOT fiddle with it and change it all next match.

I dont care for friendlies and it felt like one. Since we played very few friendlies over the summer, this was opportunity for Motta to try something new. He didnt though, more of the same shit, predictable and boring. His time is running out.
