Actually, Motta is a lot worse.
First of all, yesterday we played round 16, and Motta's Juve has 28 points after 16 rounds, not 15.
Pirlo's Juve did indeed have 27 points after round 15, but that was also because round 3 (the match vs Napoli, which we won eventually) wasn't played until after New Year. In the opening 16 matches in Serie A (rounds 1-17, without round 3), Pirlo's Juve won 33 points (goal difference: 35:16)

So it's
Motta 28:33 Pirlo (points)
Motta 26:35 Pirlo (goals scored)
Motta 12:16 Pirlo (goals conceded)
Motta +14:+19 Pirlo (goal difference)
Touché.

Only caveat I’ll give here is Pirlo had a much stronger team than Motta. But he was also much less experienced too.

Yeah guys, all cool, Pirlo inherited a team.

But did he inherit 500 million like Motta and Giuntoli to spend od transfer fees and salaries for the players they wanted and needed?

I don't think so!
500 million euros that's half of what pep Guardiola spent as a manager at man City.

that's the only thing you need to know about that comparison

we have zero proven champions now. maybe a half if you consider semi retired danilo one. that team was at the end of its cycle still had much more quality

Once again, but this time after the opening 16 matches in serie A:

Since the comeback from serie B:
Allegri 2018/19: 15-1-0 (33:8) 46 pts
Conte 2013/14: 14-1-1 (35:10) 43 pts
Conte 2012/13: 13-2-1 (34:9) 41 pts
Allegri 2014/15: 12-3-1 (34:7) 39 pts
Allegri 2016/17: 13-0-3 (35:14) 39 pts
Sarri 2019/20: 12-3-1 (29:16) 39 pts
Allegri 2017/18: 12-2-2 (41:14) 38 pts
Allegri 2023/24: 11-4-1 (24:9) 37 pts
Allegri 2022/23: 10-4-2 (25:7) 34 pts
Conte 2011/12: 9-7-0 (27:11) 34 pts
Pirlo 2020/21: 9-6-1 (35:16) 33 pts
Ranieri 2008/09: 10-3-3 (27:12) 33 pts
Ranieri 2007/08: 9-5-2 (33:15) 32 pts
Del Neri 2010/11: 8-6-2 (31:16) 30 pts
Allegri 2015/16: 9-3-4 (25:12) 30 pts
Ferrara 2009/10: 9-3-4 (29:19) 30 pts
Motta 2024/25: 6-10-0 (26:12) 28 pts

Allegri 2021/22: 8-3-5 (22:16) 27 pts

There are two roads ahead. To do what Allegri did in 21/22, or less likely in 2015/16 - to start winning a lot and make it to the CL, or to do what Ferrara/Zaccheroni and Del Neri did and to keep playing like this and finish 7th or so.
In any case, this is the 2nd worst start of a Juve season in the last +20 years.

He's worse then Ranieri, Del Neri and Ferrara, lol.

I'm fucking speechless.

I was the one who knew he was a fraud when we hired him. But now even I'm astonished.

Ten draws in sixteen is it? Fucking hell.

Patience is running out.

There are some obvious easy decisions in this squad that worryingly he doesn't seem to have figured out:

1. McKennie can't play as a centre mid. He's effective as a player floating between midfield and attack to make the most of his movement. If you try to play him in CM we effectively lose a midfielder in the position. If you want to play him, which is fine given his goal in midweek, you play Koop or someone else next to Thuram.
2. Sometimes we need to be direct. You can't always pass it around sideways with safe passes, sometimes you need to get the players to try a risky pass or go in behind to stretch a team.
3. Weah contributes far more on the left.
4. It's time to try Yildiz in the middle, especially when we are stuggling to keep the ball.
5. We need players around Vlahovic who is too isolated (this is where we pick one of McKennie, Yildiz or Koop to play off him).
6. Luiz is a liability in our half. If we play him it needs to be as far away from the goal as possible.

What is also worrying is that every single time we have had a positive result that you think could kick start our season we have blown it. When it keeps happening you have to start looking at the manager to see why we aren't riding the wave of enthusiasm into the next game. We should be flying in the first 20 mins after those games. Why are we losing the enthusiasm after those results?
You just don't miss

Can I see what you consider to be our best XI? I'm interested to see what you have in mind

Seriously?

People were saying that 2-0 City would become the new 3-0 Barca but I didn't expect it to be this quick.

A good win in the CL doesn't take away from a woeful performance in the league so far. I'm still hopeful he can turn it around but patience will absolutely run out if the results don't improve and we drift further from the top 4.

I think the tactics are probably a bigger issue than the lineup. But I think we have seen that we need 2 of Locatelli, Thuram or Koop to play as the holding midfielders. I would have included Fagioli too but he seems miles off it at the moment. Purely because they are the only ones who seem to understand how to play the role. Luiz is a liability near the box and McKennie loses the ball too much/likes to make forward runs instead of being available in that position.

On current form/injuries maybe this. I'd like to at least try Yildiz playing nearer Vlahovic at some point in a match to see if it would work.

Di Gregorio
Savona - Gatti - Kalulu - Danilo
Locatelli - Thuram
Conceicao - Yildiz - Weah/Gonzalez/Mbangula
Vlahovic

I still think Koop will come good or at least play better and the link up between him a Yildiz has potential, so maybe this. It probably won't help him if we drop him.

Di Gregorio
Savona - Gatti - Kalulu - Danilo
Thuram - Locatelli - Koop
Conceicao - Yildiz
Vlahovic

I think the most important thing is playing quicker, less cautious with the passing and get someone close to Vlahovic. If we do that we can start to play through the middle more rather than always attacking down the side.

It's very simple and everyone can see. Vlahovic is too isolated and the wingers are too isolated. Either the fullbacks have to bomb forward to help the wingers or the CMs have to make it 5 players across the attack. Or you can put Yildiz beside Susan.

But if you change nothing then you should be canned. Very simple, we don't need 3 years like Allegri

Why do we keep sitting deep against relegation teams and get surprised when we don't win? Where is the high press? We moved the ball much quicker in the first games, after that we wait for the perfect pass to someone who does not exist because we are all at a stand still. It is getting frustrating that never learn and have the same game plan regardless of opposition. Sink deep and cross fingers.

Agree. HTF do minnows of league get into our half more easily controlling the ball than we do theirs? We are Juve, seems ages ago other teams were stuck in their half with little chance of getting into our half. And then like announcer stated last match far too often SLOW movement of ball in opponent's half.

Against VEN announcer maybe Juve should just attempt more progressive, taking chance passes with less probability completed other than controlled passing ending with nothing. I agree and then press the shit out of them to get the ball back.
