No not really lol. The past few years have resulted in seriously lowered expectations. Past few years, it's all been reading fantasy threads followed by cold hard reality. Stop hurting me please. Who can we really get that's better? is my reference point these days. In the Aguero thread someone said "post calciopoli juventus is not pre calciopoli juventus." Yeah, that's right. Would we even have landed Krasic if Nedved hadn't played here? It's closing time, all the hot chicks are gone, and we don't drive fancy cars and work in the City anymore anyway, it's the plain/fat chick or go home and wank.
His agent is talking like it's a done deal. That's why it pains me to hear knocks on the guy. If he's coming I want to be enthusiastic, I don't want to go into this saying/hearing "he's shite." That's bullshit, that really sort of pisses me off, said about a potential/probable Juve guy, before he's let us down anyway lol. Go play PES if you have to have Kun and Hazard before you crack a smile.
I do kind of agree with you. People will moan if we get Bastos, but if we don't get Bastos we will get more of the likes of Pazienza and Pepe. It's not like we are going for Ribery and ending up with Bastos.
IF we are sticking with the 4-4-2, I don't see many wingers better than Bastos for us, but I wouldn't pay over 15 mln.
That vid has like 5 plays/goals, where Bastos shows he has good eye for the goal and cracker of a left foot, nothing new, seen most of these goals live. But that doesnt mean zip overall, attacking midfielder who can finish well enough, but seeing him live or full games, you see he isnt the type to make plays or take initiative, but someone who does his role/part in the scheme (would generally just make safe pass or run head on towards his mark etc). Seeing that clip, it only maks me want us to sign Pjanic more, kind of player I mean, someone who makes plays/shit happen, like how he assisted two of those goals in the clip.
Well yes, he's good from time to time, but he doesn't do that stuff consistently.
Anybody that watches Lyon regularly knows he has his moments of brilliance, but usually Bastos is just a little above average of a player. He's no Hazard, Pjanic, Gervinho, or even Gourcuff who has sucked this year.
No not necessarily. But what is better for us right now? Building on whatever progress we've made with an improved squad or completely overhauling our squad yet again and going back to square one? For the long term its much better that we keep this base that we've built which is malleable in regards to more orthodox formations that might suit another manager in the future. Say we overhaul the squad for Mazzarri (who does not have credentials much more impressive then Delneri's), we spend on quantity rather then quality yet again and Mazzarri fails. What are we left with? Another basic team built for 3-5-1 with no decent manager able to replace Mazzarri. At least with this squad with a solid base of players, built for 4-4-2 and able to be changed (with one or two new inclusions) to a 4-4-3 or 4-2-3-1 we are not completely screwed if we have another shit season and need to change managers.
That's why I want to play a 4-2-3-1, to make room for Marchisio, who I think is one of our starter caliber players. Am I again the only guy who likes this guy lol? But I must confess I'm as drawn to Marchi's bio as his play.
Aren't we getting Pirlo to pull some duty as regista? Sometimes these old dudes rediscover themselves with a change of scenery. 31 isn't dotage or anything.
So I'm the only guy who wants Adebayor? Do I have that right?
