Well, we'd need a left and right wing-back, another quality CB who can play the right side of the back three (Bonucci would be a disaster there, having to come out to the touchline), another good CM, and then backups for those players. DC would be an OK understudy for the left, but we'd need two new right wing-backs.
So 5 for the starting 11 then backups? My gosh...

Storari
Bonucci - Rolando - Chiellini
Motta - Aquilani - Melo - Marchisio - Bastos
Quagliarella - Matri

Buffon and Krasic sold. Pepe and De Ceglie as wingback's subs.

I'm not sold on Quag-Matri to bring us to the next level of higher mediocrity...we need someone with a bit more class..Quag for back up.

That's a friggin' doomsday disaster.

Three definite purchases for the first team, unless we want to be torn apart on the right side with Motta and Bonucci.

It shouldn't even be under discussion but unfortunately Mazzarri to Juve stands a good chance of happening.

Well...we have Pepe who some here would enjoy having as one of our wingbacks...

Oh gosh...
He's a disaster.

even zaccheroni ditched the 3 man defence realising it didnt work for us, i doubt mazzari has a plan B though
Indeed, and no he doesn't have a plan B.

I haven't watched Rolando enough to know, but would he be able to play the right-sided CB role in a three man defense? He's quick, but does he have the positioning and tackling skills?

Look at when Bonucci gets sucked out wide when Motta screws up. He gets owned.

Am I the only one who is worried about the likely partnership up front in Matri and Quag for next season? I am pretty sure that Marotta thinks he has two amazing strikers just because they performed this season. They are good players but they won't bring us any titles.

I'm not worried, simply because we have a lot worse things to worry about. They've both exceeded expectations for us. They're not a very flashy duo, but I'm happy with them for now. They haven't played together though, I hope they click. And it's not like we'd be competing for titles even if we had Tevez and Aguero, but the rest of the team remained the same.

That alone is a serious task. Top 3? Oh boy.
which is why this summer will make or break us for good, milan and inter will no doubt reinforce a squad that is already superior to ours, the future of napoli and roma look bright, yet in some aspects uncertain, less so than ourselves judging by what i have seen in terms of roumers of late.

I doubt Quag will be as good as he was this season. Matri, despite starting well, is also up in the air.

People will get angry for me saying this, but Amauri started out very well at the club, too.
