That's what I meant by doing a little math! I think they both offer to this team around the same, some would say Quag is even the better player..
About the bolded part, Like I said we payed the most for Quag's loan, he should be kinda put in a different category than other loaned players.. There's a remote chance of not signing Aquilani, Motta or even Pepe money and performance wise, but I don''t really see them skipping on Quag..
it sould be of little surprise, and actually commendable if marotta signed Quags AND Matri, and ended the other loans...to compare quags and matri is silly, as they are naturally completely different types of attackers. so the only question is, do we need more a prima punta or a second striker? well...i reckon we need both. This would change of course, if we are to sign a Neymar, or an AGuero, or a Dzeko...but as things stand, i see quags and matri as the best prima punta and second striker we have on the books.
as for quags injury...his potency has always seemed far more rooted in his mind than body. He rarely skins people for pace...its his mental abilities which propel him into ultra intelligent movement, and his eye for where the goal is...those things will not have been lessened bby the injury.
The ONLY loans I reckon are definite to turn into solid purchases, are Quags, Matri and Sorenson. Motta and Pepe and that freak rinaudo???? all can leave...none of them offer anything other than sub standard backup. the only major question mark remains around aquilani...his ability on the ball is quality, and i am confident that with a solid defence, meaning at least the purchase of an experienced, competent RB and LB, he will have less work defensively and be able to show himself more offensively, which IS the area he is most useful in...
