He's achieved many things and it's not because of "luck" , tactically he's probably one of the best. As far as world cup 2010? politics
You aren't sensible when it comes to Italian players or managers. Capello achieved many things too & yet he totally failed with England during the 2010 WC, is politics to blame for that too?

The main reason i would want him back is because i don't think we are going to get anyone near his calibre and i think we have wasted enough time on mangager that 'might' come good.
Just because he did some amazing things in the past doesn't mean he'll replicate what he did in the past. He wouldn't have the kind of player quality he had at his disposal back then & not to mention our wonderful management. DD did a great job here & he's already proved that he can go up against the best in europe.

Lippi= World Cup
Capello = ??

Can't compare the two , capello picked the best able squad, but england hasn't performed for year so he's just another name to add to the list of failures for england. Lippin on the other hand had the likes of rossi, di natale, quaq, cassano , balotelli , all ready to be called to play. But he never gave them a chance each for their own reason. At the end of the day remember this picture

How is Lippi having won the WC applicable to us winning the league & CL? The fact that Lippi didn't pick Cassano or Balotelli just goes to show that Lippi has lost the plot, maybe he needs some time to gather his thoughts but his tactics during WC qualification & the WC were disastrous to say the least. He needs to catch up to the standards set for modern football imo.

5 scudetto's and 1 champions league right? He's had plenty of time to "find the plot" . Also modern football? he's tactically flexible so im not worried

Maybe it's because we can't guarantee as much playing time as he wants? And Seba won't accept a rol as reserve?
Avatar. :tup::D

But that doesn't really have anything to do with him (supposedly) not following instructions or avoiding work, does it? I mean, it's not as if they said Hazard didn't play because he doesn't suit the team or the role he would be assigned. They basically said he didn't/doesn't play because he's a stubborn, lazy player with a terrible attitude.

It's odd though, you really can't overlook his talent & achievements so far, but at the same time, I feel that there is some truth in what they're saying about him.
Why lazy? I never really saw much problem from the Lille games.

Sure thing i'll take your word for it & it's kinda cute how you choose to ignore important facts like the kind of players & management we have currently.

I don't really blame him for not picking Balotelli, but he does deserve criticism for not bringing in new players effectively. He should have also used Di Natale so much more effectively.

Essentially, he said he picked who he needed & not to please people, so he could have easily taken Balotelliu because he simply was one of the best strikers .

Simple matter of fact is that Lippi has lost the plot, i have mad respect for him but he really didn't know how to utilize the talent at his disposal & his tactics were grossly flawed. His opponents had his number & he just didn't know how to counter that.

Exactly why we need a tactical coach like lippi.
Why is it so hard for you to understand that Lippi most probably won't mirror his achievements from his last two tenures at the club? Lippi couldn't get the "best" that Italy had to offer to work together during the 2010 WC, so what makes you think he'd do differently with this squad considering we have a lot of players that were in the 2006 & 2010 WC?

You can't even compare the support he had when he was our coach or the players he had inherited. It's easy to get goals when you have players like DP & Trez in their prime, now compare that to a 34yr old Toni & Iaquinta.

Last time I saw Lippi he couldn't even get the best out of Vialli and Ravanelli. Beaten 1-0 by Torino. Then thanks to Zizou (who else) they won 2-1.

No Zizou, no hope.

I agree with all you say, but Balotelli has serious problems despite the obvious talent. Cassano and Rossi for example should have gone.

I don't want him now, he's done enough for Juventus.

Id take DD over Lippi for sure but there aren't many other managers who were linked with that i would take over Lippi.

It's an issue that did Italy a great disservice, look at england with their players constantly in hot water, yet they still allow them to play. At the end of the day, he failed to put his personal issues aside & just pick the best possible players for his WC squad.

We were linked with Van Gaal, Hiddink & many more solid coaches with respectable records that would breath new life into this club. There's a common reoccurring problem with the coaches we've had.
