Maybe the difference between our NT and Lille is the fact that, at our NT due to the lack of decent full back, the midfielders MUST defend, like Dembele and Chadli did.
Probably at Lille, this isn't necessary.
But that doesn't really have anything to do with him (supposedly) not following instructions or avoiding work, does it? I mean, it's not as if they said Hazard didn't play because he doesn't suit the team or the role he would be assigned. They basically said he didn't/doesn't play because he's a stubborn, lazy player with a terrible attitude.

It's odd though, you really can't overlook his talent & achievements so far, but at the same time, I feel that there is some truth in what they're saying about him.

So the €2.5m for Ariaudo did cancel out the €2.5m for Matri's loan, it was basically a swap.

Pepe is not as talented as Giovinco but this season he's been effective for us and has done important things for us.
Umm, can I ask... what? Besides from a couple good free kicks, what exactly has Pepe done? Not much to be honest with you.

This whole Pepe discussion reminds me of one of those weird 1984-like themes, such as, "We've always been at war with Eastasia." "Pepe has always done well for us." "Pepe is a luxury."

It's delusional, Nick. He's done very little.

Giovinco isn't a left winger. I'm not talking about ability, either.
We should stop using the system as an excuse for our own mistakes. Even if Giovinco can't play as a left-winger, a notion that is false, you have to ask yourself would he provide more to the team than some of the players we have currently?

And the answer is obviously yes, no matter his position. It's just that we have this weird fetish for defensive wingers and using only one system to become a competitive team. Of course, it doesn't matter if all these opinions have been absolute failures in real life for this current side.

Viola seem interested in Tiago

We're chasing Poli, again
I'm so thrilled.

I mostly read that he is stubborn and lazy because they know he doesn't do defensive duties, I don't think there is another reason why they aren't playing him.
And to be honest, the Austria and Azerbaijan results proved Leekens' views to be correct.

We should just stop using the system, it only suits a few players (whose positions aren't fixed - ie back 4) at the club, and also Giovinco on loan. He can play left wing 4-4-2, just not very well in comparison to his actual positions. Even his better games with Juve were from a free attacking role. He doesn't suit a rigid system, but clearly many others also don't. Or at least don't once they are minus a few players, or taken out of their comfort zone. I don't think tactics and players are our biggest problem anyway.

They aren't our biggest problem, but they are certainly a big problem. Even if the players suck individually, the Juves of the past could still muster out results from time to time. That isn't the case now, obviously.
