50m on Pepe, Quag, Matri and Aquilani and then also 4 other new quality signings as Marotta promised us? Thats a lot of money for a club thats been screaming about not having money for a whole year.
Exactly. But now you'll have the good ol' boys come in here and say these three things:

1) Installment plans
2) We'll sell other players (because you know, if I receive a paycheck for 100 Euros and go out to the store to buy 50 Euros worth of groceries, I actually spent -50 Euros at the store)
3) We might not buy all those players.

There ya have it.

Red = Release/Don't Sign
Green = Sign/Call-Up

Goalkeepers:
Buffon
Storari
Manninger
Constantino

Defenders:
Barzagli
Bonucci
Chiellini
De Ceglie
Sorensen
Grygera
Grosso
Traore
Motta
Rinaudo
Beck
Another fullback (Contento, etc)

Midfielders:
Marchisio
Melo
Krasic
Martinez
Sissoko
Aquilani
Pepe
Hasan

Bastos
Poli
Mascherano
Giandonato

Forwards:
Del Piero
Matri
Toni
Quagliarella
Iaquinta
Amauri

Rossi
Maybe another forward (Neymar, etc)

Which means our mercato would consist of:

IN: Beck, *maybe another fullback, Bastos, Mascherano, Poli, Rossi, and *maybe another forward

OUT: Manninger, Grosso, Motta, Traore, Rinaudo, Aquilani, Pepe, Hasan, Iaquinta, and Amauri.

Martinez has to fuck off. Toni too hopefully.
I don't think Martinez should be a starter for us, but I think he's a great bench player. Someone who can sub in for Krasic or Bastos (if we're getting him) if they're exhausted, or one of our SS if need be.

We would certainly have a team. If you don't sign the four aforementioned players along with Motta and Rinaudo, we'd be left with this side at our disposal (including the hypothetical signings of Pastore and Sanchez, along with bringing back Giovinco):

Chiellini
Grosso
Barzagli
Bonucci
Grygera
De Ceglie
Sorensen

Melo
Sissoko
Brazzo
Marchisio
Martinez
Krasic
Giovinco
Pastore

Iaquinta
Del Piero
Toni
Sanchez

Buffon

Sorensen - Bonucci - Chiellini - DC

Melo - Marchisio

Krasic - Pastore - Sanchez

Toni

Just with those two signings alone we become a better team. Considering we are probably going to sign a couple other players besides the aforementioned loan option players, guys like Beck and Bastos, we might be able to make this work. Sign Beck or another RB and an LB instead of Bastos, bring back Ekdal and Giovinco, and we'd have a vast improvement over this year, IMO. This is in spite of the weak group of forwards above.

One could throw out Sanchez or Pastore and sign another world class player instead for another position, like Mascherano, and we'd still have a better side than we do now, in my view.

This route isn't the exact route I'd take though. I'd probably sign Matri or Quag and Aquilani and try to sell the leftover deadweight to raise cash. But signing all four of them along with Pepe is simply wasting too much capital for their ability.
Shit that looks terrific, But yes, one better striker to swap with iaq would make it Amazing..

Sanchez and Pastore in one mercato...I can't see it happening. With that kind of money being spent on those two we can almost buy Beck, Masch, Bastos and Rossi.

Beck for 5M
Masch for 20M
Bastos for 15M
Rossi for 30M
= 70M

Sanchez for 25M
Pastore for 40M (Zamp insists he's worth even more)
= 65M

Sanchez is definitely not going for 25m. I'm surprised most of you think that. Half of the worlds top clubs want him, he is at least going for 35m. He is Udineses' Golden egg for petes sake! You guys are seriously :spliff:

However I disagree with those thinking we're going to have a terrible mercato. Our board, albeit quite daft, has to know and realize that with a new stadium the fans will not come unless there is a star attraction, which within our team as is, there are none. We have to have a superstar for the fans to come and idolize, in order for our stadium to be a hit. Therefore I think one of (Neymar, Sanchez, Pastore, Aguero, and Rossi albeit to a lesser degree) will come. :xfinger: our board has enough sense as I've credited them for.
