Marotta:

With Pirlo we're very interested, the player wants 4 Million a year however we'll offer around 3. The player and agents are optimistic about the deal.

WOW.

Please, someone shoot Marotta down. The main cause for our decline is not Delneri, not Secco, not the rise of other clubs

its this piece of shit.

Oh man...150m on transfers.

Yeah right...:howler: So basically to bring the players we need to make the jump in class, we are going to have to pay them probably a handsome salary to compensate for lack of CL?

I still think Pirlo will extend his contract with Milan, but I wouldn't mind him for free even with a 2-3mln wage. He can play for another 2-3 years at high level and YES he is better than Aquilani.

How can he play at a high level when he hasn't played at a high level in 2 years?

Is he getting younger and we don't know about it?

I don't understand this? People said Toni and Barzagli added quality...and then they ended up starting?
I think he meant as in quality to the bench...and I said they ended up starting.

Mmmmm... I reserve judgement on pirlo until he players, out of all the 06 winners we have acquired thus far he's the best, should have kept cannavaro now Al Ahli is going to tax us to get him back :sergio:

ok so Juve say we'll sign 3-4 star players but we have a wage cap and can't give 0.5m to a potential star and may give 3 to a player that's close to finished?

Here I am thinking we can't f*ck up easy deals and sh*t but NO, we still get it in the a**.

I hope they don't consider Pirlo as a big signing. For the bench at a low salary ok but with this board it probably means to start and don't sign Aquilani.

I think he meant to say that people said those things about Barzagli and Toni but they ended up sucking more offering some amazing experience to lift the team.

Or thats what I think he meant :D

    That's a guarantee.

No way we'll sign him to warm our bench. He will be a starter for sure.

I dunno, seems weird. Pirlo clearly has more quality than either of those two, but I'm not in favour of the move. He's in decline, physically he can't get anywhere near his underrated and phenomenal ground covered in the past and I lost count of how many times I screamed at him playing for the Azzurri in the last few years where he just stumbles about in midfield with the ball until it is taken off him. Does he have the fight in him to drag a club that isn't Milan up from obscurity? Unless we get a killer left winger he could be nothing more than a luxury. An expensive, old luxury. It's not what this Juve needs at all.

Pirlo would take at least 12mln from us by his contract. That figure would double when we count taxes.

He was an amazing player but he's not on that level now. He's very slow now and does 30% of his old moves nowadays.

Much better investments can be made and there are many better players.

This club will end up in Serie B because of all the mistakes that were made. We will stay there 3 years and Juventus over 10 years will be just a vague name.

In other words the Torino FC after Superga.
