why not? as far as i remember barcelona havn't dropped playing the 4-3-3 since antic left the club and before he took charge.

capello made us back to back champions without playing any other system at Juve?

formations are irrelevant to how a manager performs, if it works, and the chemistry is right, then it is a winning formula and there is no need to change. If barcelona were to begin losing their next several games, they wouldn't just change the formation, just the personnel. So why should we?
Barcelona have : Messi , Xavi, Villa, Pedro , Iniesta, Purol , Pique , shall I go on

notice the difference? Now a team like ours without all those superstars would have to learn to adjust to different situations

look, our players are getting used to the current formation and system, now is hardly the time to start experimenting with another and risk dropping more points, at the end of the day the current system has proven to work up till now, ofcourse providing players are fit and available. so here begs the question as to why change something that already has proven to work, and perhaps just needs some refining with a couple of additions to the squad?

16 Draws is proven to work, maybe foe the objective of this season (CL spot) , but come next season I'm going to need to see 16 wins more in our record.

hell defensively on the most part it was a drastic improvement to last season.

the players now arn't as clueless as they were last season

and it is not like we have lacked chances this season in comparison to last season, we simply lacked a couple of additions, namely a target man, which marotta has already addressed by bringing in Toni

I agree with that but you just stated we issed alot of chances, explain to me why all of those chances came from krasic? did we bring someone in to finish them no. Did we bring smeone to create more chances to replace Quaq ? no. I reserve judgement till this winter transfer window is over though

I would love us to switch to the 4-3-3, we could do it now, every now and again but yeah the depth thing is an issue. I hope we do Lion, we could bring back Ekdal. Sahin would be great.

By we could I mean I hope. :D.

I now about as much as you guys, Forlan seems possible, I'm not going to get my hopes up though. His brother said he is awaiting our call so that's promising, if true.

4-3-3 only works with a team of good passers - our team generally finds it difficult to string 3-4 passes together - they'd get raped in 4-3-3
and the need to be dynamic. which means you need good fullbacks who can pass and a midfielder that can push up

Aquilani-Melo-Hamsik/Modric would be great with attacking fullbacks like de ceglie.

Our midfield 3 are good passers. Marchisio does well keeping it simple with the occasional killer pass. Melo is good when he has support. Aquilani is obviously a damn good passer when he actually has options to pass to.
