Yes, it seems irrational that now we have a good CB pairing with Leo and, one of the reasons we've done well so far this season, that we would try to sign Agger which will obviously break it. Signing him as a LB would be a waste. Plus would he accept a back up role and even more would it be an expensive back up?
Taking out your best CB (or changing his position) to accomodate inferior ones is a pretty terrible idea.
And that's without even mentioning the fact that Chiellini himself is more suited to the CB role than the LB role.

Considering we leak goals at the ratio of one per game, we haven't actually done well so far... But yeah, the only plus point in defence is that CB pairing...

I thought so yes, but I was looking for a reason why we would sign Agger, clearly he won't be interested in the bench.
I don't see the logic in this transfer.
With Legro, we have a backup which doesn't complain and does his job when called upon. Not mentioning that Grygera can also be used as CB if necessary so that makes 4.
So unless Agger or Chiellini will be used as LB, I don't get this rumour.

It's clichéd but it's still is a massive improvement on last season, and I don't know if it's just me but our CB pairing inspires confidence to me. Now I'd like to see us sign a proper LB who knows how to play the position and defend, but so far as I can see there aren't any around.
So-so, he likes to tuck in rather than stay wide, because he's a CB I guess. I really don't see him signing for us on the condition of being a LB. Same goes for anyone that thinks we could sign Ivanovic as a RB.
I think Agger at left back is better than all our current left backs, and anytime one of Bonucci and Chiello is injured he would be more than enough to cover..
I always liked him when playing at the left,I see he has good dribbling as well as marking, i think if he is willing to play at LB,he would get plenty of playing time..With Del Neri,I believe he can improve playing at LB with time..
Why are we discussing bringing a center back to play as a left back? Do people really think he will accept that? It's just the same as Ivanovic being brought as a right back where he wants to play in the middle. It's just silly.
What happened about the Huntelaar news? Was that just a late night rumour?
According to a Belgian website, we already signed him, he will join in June when his contract expires for 0 euro's.
Decent backup for Bonucci/Chiellini but surely not as a starter.
