De Ceglie has looked like a proper fullback at times, so I guess we'll evaluate his situation after he has had a chance to recover. RB (and PROPER backup for both sides) I fully agree with, but so is attack. When you say it is "fine" I guess you're referring to Quagliarella, because the other two forwards fill me with disappointment. Getting a striker is a must, we sent Trezeguet away like that and didn't even bother to try and replace him properly. There is still a long way (and large money) to go until this team becomes something to fight for two top competitions.
With Neymar you're paying for over 12 seasons of quality football if he stays at the club (and fulfills his huge potential), so that's why he is so expensive. I agree about the price, but it wouldn't trouble me in the end. I guess it's personal preference because I think he's one to watch, as opposed to those who prefer Vucinic but I don't really see why there is a big fuss over him.
De Deglie is a squad player, he's far too erratic. Quags is fine & is who i was referring to.
We could have kept Trez & sold both Amauri & Iaquinta. Diego could have been used as a support striker, as that's what Del Neri would have decided.
So we would have had Trez, DP, Quags & Diego. That surely would have been way better then the two dormant strikers we have now.
It's not that i don't want Neymar here. We are in a rebuilding phase AGAIN, that being said we can't afford to splash on a wildcard like Neymar. Going back to 2005 when we had one of the best teams around then we could have gone for him, as we had the luxury of splashing cash.
When we have a well established starting eleven & decent bench, then i wouldn't mind us going for player with potential that have huge price tags.
