Lyon certainly has a better squad than ours, that's for sure.Even some of the fringe players would get starting lineups in most Serie A teams.
@ Gabe, don't you think that Ancelotti has done wonders in terms of team chemistry & work ethic with Chelsea? I really thought they would be exposed with Carvalho leaving & added with all the midfield injuries. He really has made strides in keeping the team compact.

He'd probably bench Xabi Alonso in Madrid, Essien/Lampard at Chelsea, Cambiasso/Zanetti at Inter etc.
To be honest i was quite wary when we signed him in the first place, but he really proved me wrong, he got the best out of the team and the players seem more united than ever. iI may sound cliché and everything but it seems that they're quite a compact group and get well with each other, you also can notice that they're enjoying their football. Just look at Anelka's comments whenever he speaks about Carlo.
Carlo also got us to play the best football we've played in a long while, we may not have as much "talent" as his Milan side but he got us to play some really nice football, he also has been capable of nurture young players, i mean even if i don't rate Mikel that much it's quite obvious he has improved a lot since Carlo came in.
All in all i think he's one of the best things that could happen to us after Mourinho, though he plays more entertaining football than Jose.

As for the other things you guys were saying. I don't want to get into a debate about Lyon because I really haven't seen enough of that team other than a few C.L games. But I don't rate them as highly as you. They have a few very good players, but I wouldn't put them in the same league as Madrid, Chelsea, or Barca.
United? Their back line is solid enough except for the right back position and the fact that their goalkeeper is celebrating his 98th birthday this Friday. I really see nothing special about their midfield. Nani is the only talented player, and only recently it is beginning to show. I don't think Fletcher, Hargreaves, Anderson, Carrick are better than Aquilani, Marchi, Melo, Sissoko. Then we move on to attack where we have Rooney, and Rooney, and Rooney. Now, Rooney used to be awesome but I'm not sure if he currently still ranks in the top 10 strikers anymore.
Real Madrid's back line has improved under Mourinho but they still lack world class quality back there. I've seen them commit very amateurish mistakes this season. The rest of the team is fine. Maybe lacking a little quality up front. Only Higuain has been performing for them .
Melo's inconsistency is not really a liability as far as I'm concerned. Most of the best players in the world are inconsistent but that doesn't mean they're great. Rooney isn't very good now, but he's still great. Same as Torres for instance.
What you said about Aquilani is not fair and you know it. He was injured all season last year and when he did play for Pool, he was one of their best players. And when he was in Roma, people were calling him the 'prince of Rome'. He couldn't have been that bad. Injuries have ruined this guy's career but all it takes is a few minutes of watching him play to recognize his class.

First of all, i don't rate Lyon anywhere near Madrid, Barcelona or Chelsea. I do rate them over Juve however.
Second of all, Aquilani even when he played for Pool was most of the time quite poor to be honest, he might have been better had he been given time to adapt, but most of the time he was overwhelmed by the pace of the game. Also, he did very poorly as a central mid, so in the second half of the season, whenever he was played, he was mostly played as an attacking mid. Didn't do too well in either position however.
Rooney is way off form this season, and has been shit ever since the WC, but his ability is still there, no doubt at all he's one of the top 10 strikers man, come on lets not underestimate the bastard.
As for Marchisio, well i'm not one of those non juventini who underrate him, to be honest if you look for my posts in the past few years about him, i always rated him, in some cases more than a lot of people here. But he really is proving me wrong, i expected him to turn into a really good box to box midfielder, but he hasn't really developed in the past two years, and he's just a decent utility player. Not to be underrated though, i do rate him higher than Fletcher of course. Mainly because of his superior technical ability

I'll wait for your response tomorrow. As for your other points; I really don't know Lyon well enough so I won't say anything about that.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree about Aquilani. Pool paid over 20 M for this guy. He was one of Roma's best players despite the many injuries, and even when he played for Pool in second half of the season, albeit out of position, he was their best player against Athletico Madrid in the Europa Cup( Both legs ). Not much else can be said since he was out for a good part of the season and Pool were having one of their worst years in history.
Rooney? He's got the ability no doubt, but I have a lot of players in mind I think are in better form that Rooney. That's all that counts in the end, is form.
I also expected a lot more to Marchisio, but I would still give him the benefit of the doubt. He's shown promise and he's still putting in decent performances. I'm confident he'll get better with time.
