If we sign Cassano, we loose all chances of Aguero coming here. And HE is the SS we really need.
I appologize for going against the flow here, but NO to Cassano and certainly NO to him in January. Del Piero and the Quag can do for this year. This year Aguero is getting his Spanish passport and his contract is coming to a point where negotiations are possible, even for a budget-oriented team such as ours.
TBH I prefer an italian poacher/target man, rather than an italian SS. Cassano is good, no doubt about that, even better than anything we have, but he is no Aguero. Running around Estonia, Faroe Islands and our defence ... not impressive. Cassano instead of the Quag - I'll go to Turin and carry the luggage myself.
Just Imagine:
SS: Cassano, Aguero
TM: Dzeko, Amauri
That might even bring a 15+ return from Amauri...
PS: Not to mention we can get some kind of return out of Tiago, at last...

Aguero or Cassano is hard seeing as aguero is much younger, but cassano would be more sure to get quality, plus we get gip back

I'd love to have Aguero here but if we can't even get Dzeko, i'm not too optimistic about getting him.

Besides barca,Chelsea & inter have a better chance of landing him with better wages/transfer fee.

If we are not having the first option on Dzeko and if it isn't quite a 'friendly' option, Marotta is an idiot for what he has done. I've read though that he is a man of his word and such is the fame of Hoeness as well, although Dzeko himself was claiming otherwise(maybe fake press?). Then again, I repeat, if we haven't got an option on Dzeko in the 15-20 mils range (even lower) = Marotta is an idiot and that fact by itself is discouraging any dreams about a decent future. I hope he isn't though.

Barca, Chelsea and most importantly Inter are far from having the better wages. We on the other side have enough space on the books. I thought that was the whole idea behind sending Trez to spain so he can beat barca by himself and other dealings...?

Cassano price is 15mil

:eyebrows:
Isn't his release clause 20m eur?

Apparently Garrone said:
"“Cassano has a contract, which expires in 2013 and he has a buy-out clause, applied for the first time in Italy, worth €20m. But he told me once that in the unlikely event he were to leave for whatever reason, he would make me earn at least double.”"

Then why did we sign Quag?

We should of just offered the same deal to Samp, now if Cassano comes we will have him Quag and DP fighting for 1 position and Amauri/Iaquinta fighting for the other? No thanks.

Theres no point buying another attacker unless one leaves and since the only one who could possibly leave is Amauri or Iaquinta would mean we need a CF to score goals not a SS.

And why would Samp let him go when hes been so leathal for them in the first 2 games?

Smells like BS to me.

You do know that those 3 clubs can potentially offer higher wages than the 5m your best paid player earns, right?

Can they?
I am not that certain...
The only money we miss are from CL. And if we are going to make a habit out of it, then yeah - you are right.
I reckon a contract is much more than the basic salary, appearances do matter even for advertising, not withstanding perfomance-based contracts coming to Seria A. :smoke:

Besides FIFA rules are going to make it impossible to pit 11 Agueros on the pitch and therefore the teams you mentioned must cut corners on players like Messi, Villa, Xavi, Drogba, Lampard, Essien, Terry, Sneijder, Eto, Milito, Maicon....
Very (un)likely! :boh:

That's because I'm letting him do that.

I never talked about Cassano, Dzeko and Ziegler right?
