knowing blanc he will go for someone cheap and will act accordingly to his wishes and not someone of authority, hence why capello wont come, even if he was available, hence why deschamps left, ranieri has suggested it in the past, and why hiddink never arrived, and hence why we ended up with zaccheroni and not Claudio Gentile.

Allegri here we come

Belgium's hottest fries, in alphabetical order:

1. Steven Defour, Standard, midfielder, born 1988. Captained Standard at 20, guiding them to two consecutive Belgian titles. Often compared to Enzo Scifo due to his remarkable technique and vision. Liverpool scouted him in 2009, eventually signing Aquilani for a lot more money. A move they may come to regret.

2. Eden Hazard, Lille, attacking midfielder/winger, born 1991. "Faster than Zidane, more technique than Henry. Custom-made for Real Madrid," former France international Christophe Dugarry said. Hazard is possibly the outstanding talent in Europe right now.

3. Romelu Lukaku, Anderlecht, striker, born 1993. Often compared to Didier Drogba, Lukaku holds a first team place at 16, where Drogba only really surfaced at 24. Fast, strong and incredibly efficient in front of goal, Lukaku is surely destined for Europe's top leagues.

4. Marnick Vermijl, Manchester United, full back, born 1992. If Sir Alex says you are the best full back of your age and signs you up at 18, you must be doing something right. Has not broken onto the scene yet, but definitely one to watch.

5. Jan Vertonghen, Ajax, midfielder, born 1987. Real Madrid reportedly watched him last summer and maybe he was what they missed this season. Brilliant at linking defence to attack, with great vision and an enormous passing range. Could prove the Belgian answer to Claude Makelele and Patrick Viera.

Personal favourite: Axel Witsel, Standard, midfielder, born 1989. A horror tackle sadly saw Witsel conquer YouTube for all the wrong reasons but he has shown great maturity in coming back with some outstanding performances for Standard. Classy, fast and intelligent. Witsel is a joy to watch when on form.

wed do great if we could for once look to the future and sign some promising talent..this list of belgian players is exceptional imo

I would place Hazard over Defour.
And if Lukaku can confirm his season, him also.

Also at City there is a talented Belgium player Boateg I believe his name is and next to Vermijl, ManU also has another Belgian defender in their team that has a lot of talent, De Laet.

Future looks bright indeed, and with Defour, Lukaku and Hazard, we surely would have big talents in our team if we would get them.
Witsel is also a promising player but after what happened, I as an Anderlecht fan can't stand him so for me, he doesn't have to come to us.

But the past has proven that we aren't a team which buys players for the future so I am afraid we won't be going after them.

First and Foremost no to Italian players.

Witsel needs to get his head out of his ass if he ever wants to achieve something big. The talent is there, no doubt, but I'm afraid he's a bit of a retard who has no idea how to cope with it.

As for the Belgian talents: Lukaku will be head & shoulders above the others in no time if you ask me.

Kuyt is also in Juve's sights
Friday 16 April, 2010
Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt is also in Juventus' sights as they try and lure Rafa Benitez away from Anfield this summer.

The Bianconeri appear to have made Benitez their No 1 priority to replace Alberto Zaccheroni at the end of this season.

In order to make the job more enticing, La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Juventus have put together a transfer budget that would allow Benitez to bring his favourite players to Turin.

Kuyt is one of them because of his work ethic and versatility in attack.

La Gazzetta understands that Juventus have made contact with Kuyt and that he is ready to say 'yes' to a move to the club.

A bid for Javier Mascherano is also being prepared whereby Felipe Melo would apparently be offered in part-exchange.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Torres, Kuyt, Mascherano, if the rumours keep coming we will have had the entire Liverpool team in our sights before the transfer periode starts.
With backups probably.

guys i'm knew here , and wanna start my first cooment on this whole benitez ordeal. i have to admit after 6-7 painful yrs(yeah including fabio capello's tenure lippi's final on his second stint with us),benitez wud be a great consedering his valencia years.but ,lately i got the felling it will be like liverpool project part 2 for my mind which is largely unsuccesful both on results(except ofcourse '05 UCL.) and on the image which i find liverpool very dull consedering they play gerrard and mascherano in the middle of the park, which subsequently means for us a (based on the rumours) a sissooko mascherano partnership at the expense of diego ....hence going back to those dark days of capello.

I think youre wrong with your tactical dispostions.

As far as I know, Benitez favourite lineup in pool is 4231:

Mascherano - Aquilani (at least the intention when he bought him)

Kuyt - Gerrard - LW (babel)

Torres

Diego would fit perfectly in Gerrards role, and he would use Mascherano in the same role as in Liverpool.

He would play

Mascherano - (Sissoko/Marchisio/Melo)

RW(Camo/Candreva/new guy) - Diego - Gio(Rodirguez/another new guy)
Striker

This is actually the lineup a lot of ppl are longing for this season.
