Simplicio as a backup in midfield

Joe Cole for midfield I wouldn't mind
Ledley King perhaps, but not a big fan
    Puyol for sure
    Marquez for sure
    Maxi perhaps
Miguel I wouldn't mind if we don't get someone else

I guess if Trezeguet is done after this season, and as long as we have enough scoring from midfield, perhaps Pandev would be a good choice.

For defense, I suppose we could look to give away Legrottaglie or find a Chiellini partner for the long run. With a good core of Brazilians here, Alex would be a possibility for the backline, but he will probably re-sign anyway. So we could go with Marquez finally.

Miguel, Marquez and Pandev are the most realistic and intelligent targets. Could even say Zebina might move on as well.

Kjaer is a must. We should make some pre-contract with him, he's amazing.

And now they say Pandev to Inter in January and probably a loan, along side with Arnautovic to Lazio.

Another reason they want him is because Eto'o will miss 1 month or so because of the African Nations Cup.

For Kjaer? Well, they say his price is around 12mln right now, I expect a good season and his price higher at the end of the season. Probably around 16mln euros if we don't include any player in that deal which is IMO totally worth for him. I love his style, I'm just afraid it's gonna be really hard for us to sign him. Milan probably want him badly too, real replacement for Maldini and even Nesta is not getting any younger. Getting him would be one of the best transfers we could pull off.

Maxi? I like him but I'm not sure we need him for this formation/system.

Luis Fabiano: No Milan, but Juve...
    Tuesday 8 September, 2009
After he was “let down by Milan,” Brazil star Luis Fabiano is “ready to listen to offers from other Italian clubs” like Juventus.

The Sevilla striker was on the verge of joining the Rossoneri in the summer, but the two clubs could not decide on a fee and eventually chose Klaas-Jan Huntelaar instead.

“Fabiano was very upset by the failure of that transfer and felt let down by Milan,” explained agent Jose Fuentes in the Corriere dello Sport.

“Now he has decided not to talk about transfers until there is something solid behind it. He is focusing on doing well for Sevilla and the Selecao, I’ll think about the rest.”

It seems Fuentes is already hard at work, as just a week after the close of the summer session he is looking to January.

“If there is interest from an Italian club, then we are here to listen to their proposal,” he added.

“I haven’t had any direct information from Juve, but it is still pleasing to know such a big club is interested.”

The Bianconeri need a replacement for David Trezeguet, who has already announced he will leave Turin at the end of the season, possibly earlier.

One of the reasons why Milan’s bid collapsed was they tried to lower the £18m price by negotiating directly with Rio, the company that owns 65 per cent of Fabiano’s contract.

“My client belongs to Sevilla and anyone who wants to buy him must first talk to Sevilla and then to me,” warned the agent.

“Rio have absolutely no impact on a sporting or decision-making level.”

Luis Fabiano is about to be 29 years old, I would prefer someone a bit younger.
    When does his contract expire?

If it expires soon and we can get him cheaply, then being 29 is absolutely no problem. That's the same age Trez was in 2006 or Ale was in 2003. Signing a 3 year contract with a 29 year old is no problem if the striker is quality.
There are tons of 29-32 year old strikers who did great in this particular period of their careers.
