Is he actually as good as folk say?

I've seen him a couple of times, but I haven't been convinced.
I really like him, he has everything a good RB should have. He's young, you can see he doesn't have the experience and sometimes it shows still. The game yesterday against Italy he did really well again, stopping Italy's counter a few times and actively stopping Italy from being dangerous through his side. He made one mistake when he let Palladino go in the box when Italy took a corner, but that's it.

I think he's really solid, especially for his age. He's pretty fast, athletic, agile and got some moves to get past a defender when storming forward. He can cross aswell.

I was having some doubts, because I guess it's always hard to judge when someone plays in a small league like the Dutch league, but he's pretty much already our new RB in the NT.

He shouldn't be overly expensive yet either. I think he'd be a good choice for us.

I still don't think a move right now would be right for him kenj, he seems to be steadily growing and I think a move would really distrupt this, what do you think?

I think he is. Well, I think it would be a pretty decent move. I always liked him as a player. He could rotate with Gio and or Diego so we'd see if he's good enough for Serie A. His price would be 8 so it might turn out to be a good deal. I'd do some experiments, like to use him on Camo's position and see how it goes.
I don't think there should be doubts about vdVaart being good enough for Serie A really, but it's more of a question whether he'd fit in our formation. If he wouldn't have any trouble playing on the side of an attacking midfield, I think he'd be a bargain.

Yeah, might as well steal Rodney Sneijder and Siem De Jong while we're at it.
Dutchies in Juve ftw! :D

You could be right, it's always somewhat of a gamble I'm afraid. I've watched him from the first game he came on a few years back for an injured defender at Ajax, and when you look at where is he now, he's grown soooo much. He is indeed steadily growing and it might be better to leave him at Ajax, atleast till the end of this season, but on the other hand... we're not the only team looking for a RB.

These kind of things are always pretty delicate, because he might be the kind of player who needs his environment around him to grow like he does, not to stagnate his growth ( think Van Persie.. ). Also.. he's 21, so he's not a kid anymore, he's maturing fast in his play.

I guess you can't know how he will develop, no matter where he is, all I know is that if he keeps this up, we'd be fools not to look at him as a new RB.

That.. and I just want Dutch player at Juventus. :)

Haha yeah.
In that case Elia
Great player lovely speed and trickery. Him vs camo last night was an intriguing battle, I would say camo came out on top.
If only he was a RM, he be the perfect replacement, ATM I think we are sorted in the Left wing department though.

Yeah, before the start of the season Ken and I were discussing how Elia's going to blow up in the Bundesliga this season with Hamburg. I mean he's done well enough to earn a call-up, and claim a starting just about emphasizes how well he's done with Hamburg. Very diverse player, not neccesarily what we particularly need though as you said.

Behrami drops Juve hint Sunday 15 November, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Valon Behrami has hinted he will push for a move to Juventus in January despite just recovering from an injury at West Ham.

The former Lazio wide man, who can play as a winger or full-back, has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A.

Milan and Roma are also said to be interested, but Juventus have been by far the most likely candidates for a transfer.

"I know that the people at West Ham have confidence in me," he told Sky Sports. "Maybe one day I will play for a bigger club than them.

"However, in order for me to do so, I will need to be at the peak of my abilities. I just play my football from day to day.

"There is no point in me talking about my medium-term future when I don't know what might happen tomorrow."

Behrami’s contract with West Ham expires in 2013.

The 24-year-old Swiss international spent five seasons in Italy with Genoa, Verona and Lazio.
