This was approved last Friday, before the announcement. This is why Ceferin was so angry with AA, since he gave his blessing as ECA president and then pulled TSL out of his anus.
But the original plan was set to take place until 2025 and according to Perez the clubs would be bankrupt by then. Maybe this ESL pressure is to force UEFA into adapting something like that now. For 21/22 season.

Basically, insurance for the instance that one of us or United don't make the CL?

This doesn't look like a compromise to me. More like unconditional surrender by EPL clubs.

Well the EPL clubs don't need it near as bad as us or the Spanish ones so they bailed once the heat was turned up

They wanted the ESL money but can more than survive off the EPL money. The clubs still in this are more at risk

The final two places will go to the clubs with the highest club coefficient over the last five years that have not qualified for the Champions League group stage but have qualified either for the Champions League qualification phase, the Europa League or the Europa Conference League.
Nothing wrong with that. That is still based on your results on the pitch from the past couple of seasons, simply means that you won't get penalised for having one bad season.

I know why they wanted it. I'm just saying there probably wasn't a compromise given how humiliating it was for Perez and AA. We gotta find the money from somewhere else.

Yeah I didn't say there's anything wrong with that

Perez is a very powerful man lol better to have him as an ally rather than an enemy.

As always Juventus always last but first to disappoint
I have huge respect for Agnelli. The man tried so hard to make changes. But it was all alone. He built a modern stadium, other teams like lazio and roma play in a fucking olympic stadium where fans behind the goal are 30 metters away. Serie a is dead.
