Its the free pass that clubs with historical value to enter the CL without having achieved it in the league.

Another reason why English fans and clubs are regarded for pulling out. They don't even realise much of the changes in the 2024 CL is already in the ESL.

So say for example Liverpool don't get top 4, they would still get a CL spot based on their historical merits/history How that is actually judged upon I don't know.

What about a third alternative? Stay in the CL, but also have a private league. Like the pre season friendly thing, but spread throughout the season, and played in Europe, if you get rid of the domestic cup and international friendlies, there’s more than enough time to go through with it.
