UEFA President Ceferin: “The idea of the super league is an horrible proposal, these clubs spit in the face of those who love this sport, for them there is only money. We didn’t know we had snakes so close to us, we all know it now.

UEFA President Čeferin and Andrea Agnelli have a close relationship, Čeferin is godfather/father to Andrea’s Agnelli's daughter.

I see people mention that but I honestly never followed basketball so I don't know how NBA works out.
I don't either but from what I know, trade deals are common in NBA and players sign short term deals with their franchises in order to maximize on their pay. Honestly if an NBA style system is introduced in the super league I don't see why any player would reject it because they stand to gain way more out of this.
Maybe some mediocre player from Germany might take a stand on this in order to sound more 'honorable' but I highly doubt the players would reject this idea. This is their profession and money talks ultimately.

You can't buy out players from their contacts. You either "trade" for a player with players or other assets (draft positions, etc.). When a player's contract runs out he becomes a free agent and can negotiate with any club he wants.

There is also salary cap for each team if I remember correctly, so the free agents gets more, but no astronomical Suns.

you can buy players out tho. You just have to pay them their full contract. That’s what happened this season with Drummond and Blake Griffin iirc

Yes there are more to this, but I was just explaining free agency.

Yeah but the money will go to the player not the club.

that’s now how it works, players give back money when they get bought out, hence the term “bought out.” For example, Lamarcus Aldridge gave back around 7m. Would make no sense for teams to pay a guy their full contract and let them go.

Could imagine it's the league who buys players rights and then the clubs can choose him in some kind of a draft

Partial buyouts almost always. Very rare that a player gets full dollar of the contract in a buyout.

The highest paid atheletes in the world are mostly from US sports, this considering they have less than half the fanbase as football does.

Give me a solid reason as to why players would reject this idea when they could ATLEAST be on par with the pay NBA players for example get?

right, but it’s still a buy out. My point is that you can terminate a contract early, you just have to pay a big portion of that contract and usually the player makes it up by signing for another team

there’s a lot less NBA players than footie players. A lot of NFL players make chump change too even tho the sport is more popular, just because they have huge rosters.

I see what you’re saying. Other teams can’t buy out players contracts
