Yo yeah

How do we trust them if we go back into their competition now
I'm bullish on the SL actually happening

otherwise UEFA would have actual press releases citing legal restrictions from this being able to happen - which clearly it does not bc it is a free market and participants are free to create their own pay-to-play league.

instead all UEFA has done is come out with press releases and tweets calling agnelli a liar, and empty threats about SL players potentially being banned from UEFA/FIFA sanctioned tourneys

UEFA has nothing so far

This power struggle only comes to Uefa and FIFA losing money and authority. They do not care about morales and this power war only comes down to money at the end of the day and nothing else. They would all sell their grandmothers if it meant more power and money so I am personally happy to see Uefa and Fifa get a huge bitch slapping by the big clubs.

I don't agree with the ESL but I am enjoying seeing the authorities of football all squirm for once now that they can see their power disappearing.

Yes that means more money to the players, which means they should be for it too.
I mean, looked at objectively, it’s better than how current football is for everyone in pretty much every way.

If we went back to the ‘90s and earlier, maybe not so much, because financial disparity hadn’t yet destroyed any semblance of competitiveness. Domestic leagues are a joke, only EPL is even remotely competitive outside the top 2-3 teams, and CL group stage is an even bigger joke.

I feel nostalgic for football and how it’s always been in terms of competition format, but anyone being even slightly honest with themselves has to admit that this format is dead and hasn’t been working for over a decade now.

Face it, the current model may seem like it provides chances to smaller clubs to develop into big ones, but in reality it does not, the revenue gap is getting larger and larger. You can build a successful cycle from limited funds like Atalanta, Leicester etc, but in the long run there's a very clear glass ceiling for all level clubs in Europes domestic leagues. ESL just points to that ceiling very strongly, but it's already there, while for us it's an opportunity for a more equal footing compared to the rest of Europes TOP10.
100% this. There was already a huge monopoly and something needed changing as revenues of the clubs was getting way too high for other teams to compete. FFP only protected the big clubs.

European competition law is the competition law in use within the European Union. It promotes the maintenance of competition within the European Single Market by regulating anti-competitive conduct by companies to ensure that they do not create cartels and monopolies that would damage the interests of society.

Obviously it won't be perfect but it's a good start to curtail UEFA's monopoly powers.

By Uefa trying to stop it they are effectively making their own monopoly by killing competition. Kind of ironic right?

No chance of the super League happening, the players dont want to wave goodbye to their national teams for so many different reasons.

UEFA really got the best cards on their hands and the players are trapped now.

That is desperation. Agnelli has trapped Ceferin in the corner like a cockroach and that's his last wild card now. The power is with the clubs.

What do you think about Juve losing against Porto and Lyon in the 1/8 finals ?
Hopeless, and thats one of the reason we need to make sure the biggest teams play against each other every year. One bad half, one bad ref and its 20-30m lost, and a big team is out. Happens every year in cl, i get the fairitale story but we loose huge matches every year, and leave money on the table. Its unsustanable and creates uncertanty for the biggest clubs. Cl is great for the ajaxs, atalantas and portos of the world

I was just wondering.. can we somehow get fucked over this? Like Calchiopoli style or something?
The only ones who are getting fucked this time is FIGC, bro.

Without Juve and top clubs Italian league will be on par with Belgian or Portuguese league.

I would never watch them again and I've been following Serie A for 26 years straight!
