Hey guys. Stumbled across this thread as I was getting myself acquainted with the site. Can't say I've had too much experience with single malts, but the couple I have had, Glenlivet and Macallan, have both been amazing. What would you guys recommend? A friend of mine suggested trying the Speyside single malts first and moving on from there. What do you guys think?

The vodka bottle in my desk is empty. I plan on replacing it with Scotch as I'm tired of sipping warm vodka while I write. I'm looking for some recommendations that are not Glenfiddich. I also need a bottle for the weekend. Budget is $50-70 a bottle. Thanks.

My latest victims were Glenlivet 12 and Glennmorangie 15. Both were excellent but the Glennmorangie had something special.

BenRiach 15 (rum cask not tawny), I got some of this in scotland and it is the smoothest whisky I've ever had.

Macallan 10 year old is also lovely

    Both would cost aroun €50

Thanks boys. I'll let you know what I think after the holiday. If you're wondering which holiday, it's the one our University made up.

It's not the shower though, it's the training rich week that I had. I hope to continue on that track (excuse the pun)
