by far the dumbest owners to ever feature in kitchen nightmares!! i've been watching kitchen nightmares bec i enjoy this show a great deal and no one comes close to these two :D the literally take the cake ;)
Have you caught any of his shows before America got interested?

When he produces shows here he doesn't get put with confrontational people, he gets put with people that don't know how to run restaurants for a variety of reasons - its actually more interesting to watch than the tripe that gets put on in america, we get it shown here too and its like a headache watching the filming style, constantly cutting between shots. Eurgh.

Those shows are way better. The American version is all about drama.

I remember first seing the us version and i was like...'what? Is this it? They get angry and he shouts at them for no reason?'

Can an American clear this up for me - why do people on reality TV in the US get given a shitload of free stuff for being incompetent and horrible? (too many shows i am aware of doing it to list them)

The way it works here is - Meet people, investigate problem, fix problem, come back offer more help. The way it seems to work in the US is - investigate problem, meet people, shout at each other, find heartbreaking tragedy, give them free stuff, leave and never ask if it worked.

This doesn't mean to being a criticism of the US, just the way in which television is manufactured for you in contrast to how it is here.

no, i know what you mean. i've seen the british version too. but i'm pretty sure they also get free stuff.

in the us, they probably ask for more and since the profits are higher, i assume the producers have no problem giving more. and people love drama so the crazier the people, the higher the ratings. not a secret formula or anything.
