In my experience overly religious people usually have trouble keeping the doubt out of their minds so they compensate by shouting their beliefs at others when really they are still trying to convince themselves. They're to frightened of everything they hold dear not being true so they cling to it tightly kicking and screaming at anything that threatens that belief.
