And an englishman designed the first computer without which the creation of the internet would not have taken place.

What is more I don't hear people going on about the fact that the UK created the computer. It is more down to the individual i.e Bell, Marconi etc.

if it's babbage you re talking about pascal is just as worthy of that credit. At any rate your logic is ridiculous as it would impute everything ever invented or discovered to the first guy who mastered fire production. Regardles of your qualms with this thread, you cannot argue the 20th century has been the U.S' for better or worse (history will remember more "better" though)

First time I have used this forum. Heard about it on pesfan. I am not in the business of using multiple accounts, mainly because I find it sad to say the least.

Anyway, someone help me come up with a reason as to why the U.S.A can be appreciated.
Why do I feel that you're forcing yourself to fart?

Your question should be more like what US hasn't done?????

Take your political glasses off and like Nick would say, Jog on.

let's get things straight people, once and for all

if you have ever used a product or a sevice that originally came from the United States and you enjoyed it. If you have ever appreciated an idea that originally came from the US. If you wish to praise those ideas, goods or services then you have a thread where you may do so now.

if any other do not apply to you, your input is not appreciated on this thread

Just living in a place called "Timbuktu" is kinda cool by itself ;)
When I was in Guinea, I was seriously tempted to cross a couple of borders and get my passport stamped in Timbuktu, just so I could say that I've been to Timbuktu and back.

It'd be my infallible argument if anyone were ever to disagree with me on anything.
