Last year Aris signed Amoroso from Gremio. He stayed in Aris for 6 months and scored only two goals but when he arrived in our town over 6.000 fans went to airport to welcome him!! We are pretty crazy over here! Here is a video of the arrival of Amoroso.

You think the U-21 good defenders are reliable and dependable for the coming season?
Yes and No. Certain players have potential, so we should snap them up before someone else does, which would mean having to pay huge sums for them later. Look at Serbia's backline for example. Impresive and quite solid. Are you happy, safe, and secure when your 3 CB's are Chiellini, Canna, and Legro? I am not! Scouts should be doing their job; I also said they should be looking at players @ the Confederations Cup, Libertadores, and allow me to add other European Leagues (if there are any still running).

Mellberg transferred to Olympiacos. Goodbye Olof

After only one season, Juventus bid farewell to Olof Mellberg. The Swedish defender was transferred to Greek side Olympiacos for €2.5 million.

Having joined Juventus from Aston Villa on a free transfer last Summer, Mellberg’s stay in Turin has come to an end with 37 appearances (27 in the Serie A, 6 in the Champions League and 4 in the Coppa Italia) and two goals, both scored at the Rome Olimpico against Lazio and Roma respectively.

Mellberg officially leaves Juve

Tuesday 23 June, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus have formally announced the sale of Sweden international centre-back Olof Mellberg to Greek side Olympiacos.

The 31-year-old only joined the Bianconeri last summer, but the signing of Fabio Cannavaro put his future in doubt.

He made 27 appearances for Juventus last season and scored two goals.

According to a statement released to the stock exchange, the Bianconeri will receive £2.1m for Mellberg in two instalments.

Juventus will also receive £430,000 should Mellberg win the Greek Super League while playing for Olympiacos.

Considering the Thrylos have won the last three championship titles in Greece, Juventus can expect to receive that £430,000 sooner rather than later
