That's kinda harsh.He wasn't half as bad as people make him out to be.He did a decent job,and i was a tad dissapointed to see him go.He would have been an ideal backup.

He made two costly mistakes the entire season, one more than Chiellini... On the plus side he was there most often than not to put in last ditch challenges... He was a decent backup, but with Cannavaro coming in, I don't think he'd have got much playing time..

I feel Mellberg was unfairly blasted by Juve fans last season. He played a few poor games and gave a horror performance against Chievo but he was fine for a free acquisition IMO even if his leaving this summer was for the best.
