Alvarez has had plenty of good fights and performances in his career, but he's always been hittable. That's the perfect opponent for an accurate puncher like Conor, provided he can keep it standing, which he did. Conor by KO was always the likeliest result here, followed by Alvarez by decision, the only surprising thing was how easy he made it look.
