In Saturday's game, former and current Japanese internationals will play against their counterparts from around the world, including Clarence Seedorf of AC Milan, Edgar Davids of Ajax, Marco Marchionni of Juventus and former Italian international Salvatore Schillaci, who once played in the J-league.
The match is part of a "global awareness" campaign orchestrated by Nakata.
Mourinho will be the coach for the "World Stars", while former Japanese striker Kunishige Kamamoto, 64, will coach the "Japan Stars" who include Nakata and Torino striker Masashi Oguro.
"It is more than a friendly. It is a showgame," Mourinho said.
