The keeper handed him that goal really, Marco looked clueless as to what to do with the ball but fortunately for us the keeper decided to help him out.

Anyway it's mouthwatering to see Marchionni back, our squad is looking so much stronger now.
I don't think he looked clueless on that at all...he waited for him to make a move 1st and then put it in.

He's like a new transfer to the club. Could really help rest Camo and Neddy when needed and also when we need to counter.

yea ... Marchionni can really relieved the workload of both neddy and camo since both are already at the wrong side of 30.

Abt flair .. i usually associated them with wing wizards like Giggs or someone with terrific footwork cutting through defenses like a hot knife through butter ... like Alex and Zidane during their peaks

Exactly, Marchionni was excellent in finishing that chance. The keeper couldn't decide to cover Trez or to cover Marchionni's angle, in that split decision he left an opening and Marco was relaxed and put the ball in the back of the net smoothly.

I always liked this guy, he could be a real asset to this team if he could just stay injury free. His good with the ball and can play both flanks. Just remember pre-season, he was playing on the left flank and was a constant threat cutting inside the middle to shoot with his right foot. He would give us a lot of options if he stayed fit, not just cover for Nedved or Camoranesi.

Here's to wishfull thinking. :pint:

He should be commended for keeping his calm and waiting for an opening rather than making a stupid hasty decision which many young players tend to do.

I like Marchionni, but he's just an average winger really. His crossing has been piss poor from the few matches he has played this season. Never thought that much of him either.
