Moratti named Inter chief Monday 6 November, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Massimo Moratti is the new President of Inter following the sad death of previous chief Giacinto Facchetti.

The Nerazzurri owner was elected to the position earlier today following a shareholders’ meeting in Milan.

Moratti, an oil tycoon, returns to the role after an absence of 1022 days following his resignation on January 19, 2004.

The millionaire owner bought the club in February 1995 where he was instantly named as the successor to Ernesto Pellegrini.

However, after the club’s struggles towards the end of 2003 and the start of 2004, Moratti handed control to close friend Facchetti.

Moratti’s two sons – Angelo and Giovanni – have also been appointed to the board of directors. Moratti’s father, Angelo, was the Inter President between 1955 and 1968.

Lets hope he manages to Bungel like he did before.

It seems this Moratti won't get mature ever...

He defends the stolen scudetto violently because he knows he won't have another one during the next 3859 years...

Moratti hits back at Milan criticism

Newly elected Inter president Massimo Moratti has hit back at suggestions that the decision to hand the club last season's Scudetto was illegitimate.

Milan lawyer Leandro Cantamessa has questioned the decision to hand the title revoked from Juventus for their involvement in the match-fixing scandal to Inter, a stance which has infuriated Moratti.

"It was a real gaffe - especially when you consider that the person who said this has juridicial knowledge," Moratti said.

"Our Scudetto is more than legitimate and is also a reason for our supporters to be very proud.

"It wasn't easy to suffer all that we were forced to go through in the past few years and what we must still face now, as the other clubs are complaining that they are victims.

"Some people seem to have forgotten what happened during the summer and the phone interceptions
."

But Catamessa has since tried to diffuse the situation responding to Moratti's blast.

"Mine was not a gaffe," he said.

"I only gave a juridicial evaluation of the issue, which is different from what President Moratti believes. There is no need for him to get angry though as any other technical judgement could be wrong.

"I have an excellent relationship with Moratti, I only have a different opinion from the one from the commission who decided to assign the Scudetto to Inter, there is nothing more than that."

I disagree, we have been playing pretty well lately. Besides, you dont get extra points for playing pretty.
Pretty well?:rofl2:

You´re getting all the dicounts you can get.

You should be getting twice the red cards you´re getting now and there should have been at least 3 penalties against you.

You are leading a game by 3-0 or 4-1 and then you get saved by the referee whistle.

Your defence is more pathetic than ours.

It´s a shame Spartak hasn´t got some sublime finishers, otherwise you would sink in Moscow already.

It doesn´t matter I´m still counting on Sporting and Bayern.:skull:

Primavera renamed after Facchetti Wednesday 8 November, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Italian Primavera youth team championship will be named after deceased Inter President Giacinto Facchetti.

“We have decided to change the name of the competition to honour the memory of Facchetti’s great sporting figure,” said Lega Calcio chief Antonio Matarrese.

“I personally made this proposal and all the members accepted without any complaints. [Inter owner and new President] Massimo Moratti was visibly moved by this fact,” added the official.

The championship will now therefore be known officially as the Primavera TIM Giacinto Facchetti.

Facchetti, who died in September, was firmly convinced of the ethical importance of youth teams, which he did not consider only from a technical and competitive point of view.

This was confirmed during Inter’s board of directors meeting on Monday, when newly-elected President Moratti announced that the Interello youth training facility would be renamed after Facchetti.

Ok im sorry for the dude i really am but why are Inter trying to run everything these days? Accepting handed titles, Changing names of competitions. Inter are really doing my head in.
