Moratti named Inter chief Monday 6 November, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Massimo Moratti is the new President of Inter following the sad death of previous chief Giacinto Facchetti.
The Nerazzurri owner was elected to the position earlier today following a shareholders’ meeting in Milan.
Moratti, an oil tycoon, returns to the role after an absence of 1022 days following his resignation on January 19, 2004.
The millionaire owner bought the club in February 1995 where he was instantly named as the successor to Ernesto Pellegrini.
However, after the club’s struggles towards the end of 2003 and the start of 2004, Moratti handed control to close friend Facchetti.
Moratti’s two sons – Angelo and Giovanni – have also been appointed to the board of directors. Moratti’s father, Angelo, was the Inter President between 1955 and 1968.
Lets hope he manages to Bungel like he did before.
