Zanetti grateful for break

Javier Zanetti believes that Inter will take advantage of the international break to come back stronger than ever.
The Nerazzurri have struggled so far this season in both Serie A and the Champions League, but Zanetti remains optimistic that they can achieve big things this term.
"I think the break came at the right time – this way the injured players can recover.
“Aside from a few slip-ups, I think Inter have done well in the championship,” said the Argentinean player.
“The team has done well, although we can clearly do better, but there are many matches to play and we have all the time we need in the Champions League despite the poor start.
“I think we have every chance of turning the situation around, it just depends on us,” added Zanetti, now in his 12th season with the Nerazzurri.
However, the 33-year-old did not appreciate Gianluigi Buffon’s latest comments on the fact that Inter’s Scudetto was not won on the pitch.
"I am proud to be the captain of a team which is the expression of an honest club and I am proud of everyone who works for Inter,” he insisted.
“Everyone wants to make us feel like we should be ashamed of something, but it is the exact opposite.
“In all these years Inter have shown loyalty and honesty. We are not embarrassed to wear this Scudetto –
we won the points on the pitch. :rofl2:
“As to the alleged crisis in the dressing room, this is not the first time we’ve heard these rumours.
“I can only assure you that the group is united. We are focused on our work and we leave everything that is said on the outside to the others.”
Inter will meet Atalanta at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia in Bergamo on Friday to honour the memory of the deceased President Giacinto Facchetti.
“We really miss Giacinto and we will always miss him – for his presence and his class.
“He always found the right words at the right time, and he would have known how to manage this situation well,” concluded Zanetti.
