Agent: Boumsong Staying At Juve

The agent of error-prone Juventus defender Jean-Alain Boumsong has declared that his client will not be leaving the Stadio Olimpico.

The 28-year-old Frenchman, who was born in Cameroon, has not featured this season for the Bianconeri due to injury.

Despite playing 33 games in last year’s Serie B promotion campaign, the Italian media strongly suspect that Boumsong is no longer wanted by Juventus.

“The lad’s future is still in Turin,” Vincenzo Morabito told Tuttomercatoweb.it.

“He is happy in a Juve shirt and he and his family like life in Turin. It would be hard to leave and he would only do so for one of the world’s biggest sides.

“There was no concrete contact with Lazio. In the summer there was a tentative approach from Lyon, but nothing came of it.

“Recently there have been whispers that Real Madrid are interested in my client, but at the moment they are just whispers and nothing more.”

Boumsong joined Juventus last summer for just over £3m, following a nightmare 18 month spell at Newcastle United.

Having signed for the Magpies from Rangers in January 2006 for a whopping £8m, Boumsong made a string of high-profile errors and formed a calamitous central-defensive partnership with the equally accident-prone Titus Malachi Bramble.

Boumsong has won 22 caps for the France national team and was in Les Bleus squad for Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006.

I'd sack him. Paying his wages is boarder-line lunacy. He's the only downside to DD's management.

Logically speaking, why would any top European side be interested in Boumsong when he is considered to be crap?Maybe he DOES have potential and the only thing hampering him is a seriously low confidence level, which has probably taken a nosedive in the last few years.

I dont think Mellberg is that much of an upgrade of Boumsong, first of all i actually do want Boum to stay!!, but if i were to sell him, it'd be to trade him with maybe a Grosso, or another competent wingback

How can you come to that conclusion when Mellberg has been good in the EPL for 7 years whereas Boumsong was a total flop there?

Well first, yes Mellberg has been alright but nothing special, n second i hope im not living in the dreatime by wanting a CB who has the potential/current ability to demand a starting place n i cant see Mellberg jumping ahead of Chiellini, Andrade, Legro & maybe even Criscito in the near future.. so wat use is trading one bench warmer for another, when we already have Boum who is quite comfortable sitting on his bench

Why keep him if he does not play? And he won't play unless Criscito, Legro, Grygera and Chiellini are injured.

Yeah, like every club have an idiot for a manager.

Maybe you're right about trading one bench warmer for another, however you forgot how huge Boum salary is. For player of his quality they are ridicoulusly high.

Why should we still talk about Bojinov, we have Tiago now, the new Bojinov;)
Hey we needed someone to replace his position at the club, at least that job Secco did properly :D
