Our midfield is much more dynamic when we played a single striker formation, we've seen that against Samp and Atalanta. They will, or should be able to, create alot.
The striker will just have to be ready for alot more service and make most of the chances he gets.
And besides, I think that when Giovinco, Diego and whoever play behind that striker, you have plenty of players who can be a real goal scoring threat.

I disagree with you. Drogba can create. I am not saying his is a Zidane. But he can take a defender with him and pass a through ball or a cross to his team-mate. Something none of our lone attackers (except in a limited way iaquinta) can do.
When Inter played with Lone striker in Ibrahimovic he was able to create and score. Same goes with Rooney in Many U or Torres in Liverpool. These are top end quality players that can create and score. Both Iaquinta and Amauri are far from their standards. All finishers, i.e. Trezeguet, iaquinta and Amauri, need a supporting striker in the form of Del Piero or Giovinco to open up spaces for them. If these players are in the field but positioned too far from the strikers, the strikers will get isolated and will be an easy target to mark.
I know I'm no coach but surely Zac must play 4-2-3-1 with the current available players. Or if he didn't want to play Gio so wide maybe even a 4-3-2-1 with Diego and Gio sharing the central creative role.

It was refreshing to read Zach's post match comments. They implied he actually understood something of our problems, rather than Ciro's lame and repeated 'we have problems, and must all pull together to solve them'. Identifying our major failings is of course merely the first step, but its already more than what Ciro could discern.
He is obviously not anyone's ideal candidate as our manager. But compared to Ciro, purely on an experience level, he is massively more useful. And to ask him to get us into 4th is not much of a wild dream, as we potentially possess a team, on paper, which is superior to every squad other than Inter and perhaps Milan. All he needs is to try to solve our basic problems, get a win or two under his belt, then coast through to 3rd or 4th.
As to what formation he will or should adopt...I will hope for the 4-2-3-1, or 4-3-2-1. But not with Amauri in attack. he has been our worst player for the last 12 months...I would rather see Paolluci as the lone striker, or Immobile, if Trez and Iaquinta are still injured. DP CANNOT play the lone striker role. No way...
