The only way they are going to get young players and/or draft picks is if they take on a bad contract or two. They have the cap space to do that. . THis team has done an absolutely pitiful job of developing their young talent over the last 5 years. It is pitiful.


Look at the Bruins and all of the young talent they have on the team, especially in defense. It is simply gross, to be honest

and I've never been a fan of Lefebvre in the AHL. Ducharme[coach] and Bouchard[GM] who won gold with Canada Jr are available.

as for the most important thing, the NHL I see Julien Brisebois coming over form Tampa. He should now but it's already too late. Not sure if we want Marc doing that rebuild.

The guy started well/ok and blew it. With all those supposed experts he hired: Dudley, Lapointe, Mellanby.......

Must be a country club and just friends who all agree with each other.

The management managed to waste the prime of Carey Price. Turns 31 this year. Sad they couldn't manage to build a better contender around a franchise goaltender.

I'm not offended at all. We must have the best people for all roles. Coaching, players...

If I see two players of equal talent[does that even exist]...but let's say it does...I'd go for the guy from here. I think the home town factor can help in MTL.

He's only 11 months younger. I don't think it's really fair to say Savard had begun declining. He was 29, which is considered prime for a hockey player. He was 2 seasons removed from 131 point season, and only injuries stopped him from 100+ points in 88-89 (82 points in 58) and 89-90 (80 points in 60). He was also fantastic for the Blackhawks in the playoffs those 2 seasons, leading them to conference finals both years, with 19 points in 16 and 22 points in 20.

I don't really see anyone predicting in 1989-90, especially after the playoffs, that he would be almost useless by 1992-93.

All the same, definitely a terrible trade in hindsight. Chelios could have anchored that defensive line for another 15+ years.
