Well, they dominated long stretches of the game, but it still wasn't a great performance by the Bruins tonight - although they certainly kept it physical. Washington is going to be a little sore in the morning - they took a lot of hits, and blocked a TON of shots. Tight game, can't wait for Saturday.

bruins are goons, admit it. it's not because they play the north american game, i have no problems with a rough game. but they tend to lift off when they hit, like to run at goalies etc. goons :p
This is nonsense. :D They tend to lift off when they hit? You realize that the ultimate jumper wears number 8 for your team, right? Seriously, nobody jumps into a hit quite like Ovie.

The Bruins don't jump into their hits anymore than the average team - they just hit more. In reality, I bet they actually jump less on average, because they're huge, and don't need to get up in order to knock the opponent down. (with the exception of a guy like Marchand, maybe Ference too).

As for running goalies, I think you've got one Lucic/Ryan Miller moment stuck in your head. They drive the net hard, like most good teams do. Playing to, and occasionally through the whistle.

I admit it. They are gooooooooons. :D
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooons.:D
You ladies should be watching ringette

Just out of curiosity, which players on the Bruins would you legitimately consider goons?

:D

im surprised how well the caps are holding up, physically. holtby is looking very good and confident.
Dude, this is game 1. The physical toll likely won't really show for at least another couple of games.

holtby is superman out there. 26 saves so far, not even the end of the 2nd.

He played very well, but I was much more impressed by the Capital's getting into the shooting lanes and blocking shots. They were really disruptive, kept most of the action to the outside - not a lot of high quality shots on net for the B's - and I was a little bit surprised, to be honest. Boston needs to get more net-front presence... time to really get in the kid's face. :D

I wonder how he'll rebound for game 2. He definitely had a couple of panicky moments in the 3rd.
