Oh I didn't notice the NHL thread before. I will be active here for sure.

The Lokomotiv tragedy was really shocking. Brad McCrimmon was coaching Red Wings for like 5 years, and Ruslan Salei was playing in Detroit last season. I was cheering for him every second night. He seemed like a really nice guy and he just had his last child, which is like 3 months old I think .

Also, one of the victims was Stefan Liv who was a Pole adopted by swedish parents. Too bad that polish media ignored this fact.

Really shocking situation, and watching the ceremony from Minsk was heartbreaking .

Did any of you hear about the banana thrown at Wayne Simmonds during the Flyers - Wings game in London (Ontario)? :sergio:

This happened to Kevin Weekes in Montreal years ago.

Great start by the Wings 2 from 2,after 2 nights in a row.
Good job:tup:

Huds looked inspired,he's on a contract year.
Forza those patches in the memory of McCrimmon,Salei,Liv we'll be playing with all season long.

LET'S GO RED WINGS!

So boys, what's going on in Montreal right now? Is it as simple as the defense being turned over (and not properly replaced), and Muller being gone? I wasn't expecting the drop-off, after such an epic playoff series against Boston. Tough luck on the injuries for you guys too right now, no doubt about it. And fucking Erik Cole being a no show in terms of production doesn't help either.

My boys are struggling too, but damn is Seggy looking every bit like the franchise player Bruins fans hoped he would be. 19 years old, saying all the right things, just explosive. That release is just ridiculous. Anyway, the B's will turn it around soon.

Max, congrats on your team's improvement buddy, that lineup is actually very solid. I thought they were a bubble team before last season, and it looks like if everybody stays healthy, this is a playoff team. More quality, more depth, Reimer is playing great. Guys like Steckel and Lombardi, Gardner, Lupul... some great pick ups by Burke there. Doesn't hurt that Kessel is playing out of his mind, either. It'll be interesting to see what a healthy Connolly can add to the team.

Pittsburgh fans - your team is looking pretty beastly. Exciting times ahead once the big guns are back. Neal is looking awesome, just like we thought he would... although, as someone who has drafted him 3 years in a row for my fantasy team, I can confirm that he pretty much always tears it up early. He's hitting 40 this year though, I'd bet on it.

Apart of what you said Rollie I think Martin lost the respect of certain players by playing Darche on the PP and Gill on 4-4's for example plus that fact that his system is so passé. If they don't get up from this next week he's as good as gone and maybe Gauthier too. Enough old defensive style hockey and let's get crosschecked by others and not retaliate with punches but with the PP(that's not working anymore).

It's all gonna blow up sooner or later for the Leafs. They won against the shitty teams and lost each time they played a contender.

Habs look like they're in a bit of a rut, but last time they had this start they made it to the conference finals. It's still early in the season.

It's funny, I'll my friends who support the Leafs are saying the same thing. You guys have just been beat down so long, you're not sure what the hell is going on right now! I've watched about 5 T.O. games - or most of 5 games - so far this year, and it's just a different team, different attitude. I understand the hesitancy, and the fact that none of you guys want to jinx this shit. To my eyes, if Reimer stays healthy then Toronto's a playoff team. I'm pretty interested to see the chemistry on that first line in a couple more weeks.

Looks like we stabilized things over here. Finally Cole on the PP and it works.
Yeah, you guys are looking like your on the up and up. Pleks has kind of hit his stride, Pacioretty has been solid, there's finally some decent size up front. Really helped to get Spacek back, and if Markov comes back healthy, Montreal could make some noise.

My Bruins are looking like a bit of a disaster right now.

There's just no urgency, and they don't respond to in-game adversity. In that home and home against the Habs, MTL's speed gave the Bruins fits, and Boston couldn't capitalize on their chances either; first game, they go 1/6 on the pp fairly early, then collapse. Second game, they hit a couple posts early, then collapse. Real problems putting the biscuit in the basket right now - guys are obviously squeezing their sticks too tight. This team needs a bit of luck to get things rolling - but you can't wait for luck. Chiarelli needs to act.

They need to dump Pouliot ASAP, and add another quality winger. I'm tired of watching him float, wave his stick around, and not engage anyone physically. Total waste of space. The lines have been unbalanced early, and Recchi is missed greatly right now (hell, even Ryder is missed right now). More than anything, this team badly needs Krejci and that first line to start producing.

The lack of competition for roster spots on the team this year has led to complacency. They need to make a move to shake things up. I can't put the blame on Julien. He's changing his lines all the time in the hope of finding something that works.

I'll tell you who they miss.

Mark Recchi.

He would always be the one to get into the trenches to get the tough goals.

And so it has begun. Rollie, I think the Bruins are going to be just fine.
