So far our D's look like this:

Markov(season over)-Gorges(season over)-Spacek(season over?)

Gill-Subban
Hamrlik-Wisniewski
Mara-Weber
Picard-Sopel

I think a right handed D will leave and it'll possibly be Weber. I like the kid, getting better.

Just watch if Penner and Peckham join us for Weber, a pick and a forward(Kostitsyn?)

That would leave us with this D for the playoffs:

Gill-Subban
Hamrlik-Wisniewski
Peckham-Sopel

I thought I remembered some talk around these parts about Maxwell being a decent prospect. I haven't seen the kid play, but I'm a little surprised MTL just traded a forward prospect with a bit of size (Edit: and the 4th rnd pick) for a depth defenseman who's UFA (also a healthy scratch lately, but ATL does have a solid D corps), and another small forward who's been playing in the AHL (It surprised me a bit that Dawes was in the A actually... he was decent for Cgy not too long ago). I don't really understand this deal.

Nice pickup by the Pens, solid move by Anaheim grabbing Ellis. I wonder if the Bruins have any last minute surprises... not named Shane Hnidy...

More talk of Brad Richards going to the LA Kings. Too bad he has a concussion.

The speedster Jan Mursak is called up again for us against the Stars tonight. Looks like Eaves is out a few weeks with a groin injury.

Oh, and since we're playing the Stars, we get to see the GoliGoal debut. :jvefan:

I think that trade will end up working out better for the Pens. Neal is a solid talent.

He doesn't play nearly as big as his size.

The acquistion of lars Ellers and the Drafting of Louis Leblanc basically sealed Maxwell's fate with the orginization, unless he averaged 1.5 ppg down in Hamilton this year, which he was nowhere close to averaging

I just have this, feeling, I guess you could say, that Montreal is going to end up overpaying for Dustin Penner and I'm going to jump off a bridge

Holmstrom once again called for goalie interference when we score. Never-ending nonsense. Give the advantage to the attackers, not the fucking goalies. The man was out of the crease and was nudged back.

Hmm. I understand the size/impact part... a la Colborne. 40 points in 47 games isn't too shabby though. Montreal obviously saw some things they didn't like I guess... work ethic, attitude... I have no idea.

I guess my first reaction is that it seems like a good deal for ATL.

    :D

He could be a useful part, if the price is right... which it almost certainly won't be. Edmonton is asking for the moon for both of their targeted forwards, from what I've read.

If Hemsky wasn't such a band-aid half the league would be after him. Guy is almost a ppg player.

Vancouver too were f*cked in D with all the injuries.
They should be fine come playoff time. Recently got Salo back, and Ballard and Hamhuis both played last game... Gillis has purposely held on to an extra D man, because this situation has happened to them before and they weren't prepared. Bieksa will be back in 3 weeks or so.

It's losing Edler that really hurts them...

Losing 3-0, and things are getting heated. Ribeiro, Morrow, and Ott are a bunch of clowns. Seriously, die in a fire.
