Briere- Philly has the best record in the Eastern Conference, and Briere is playing out of his mind. Why would Philly trade him? To Pittsburgh?!?!!? 
Spezza- Ottawa won't give him away just because they suck. He's still only 27 years old and in his prime. Possible, but expect to pay a heavy price for him
Heatley- san Jose is tied for first. Tell me why they would trade him
Kessel- He's only 23 years old. Regardless of the fact that he is unhappy in Toronto, 23 year old 30 goal scorers would cost a lot more than what Pittsburgh could probably afford.
You've got to be realistic here. The only player in that list that you have a legitimate shot at is Spezza.

Pittsburgh can't invest 7M a year (for 4 more seasons!) in another center... Spezza just can't happen. Malkin, Crosby and Staal are banking a ton, Letestu can play in the middle... they could get a rental center for the stretch run, or they could invest decent $ in a winger with another couple years on his contract. A whole lot of UFA's coming off Pittsburgh's books as the end of the season.
Hemsky and Penner are both interesting options, although Penner would be hard to squeeze in next season (only 1 year left I think). I wonder what Edmonton wants for Hemsky... he's an FA after this season.
Edit: I was wrong about this, they both have a year left on their deals. Salaries are very close. These guys are intriguing... for my team as well...
Damn, Boston sure was shitty tonight... Detroit came out flying, but Boston just stunk. You know who didn't stink? Peter Forsberg. Hands and vision... definitely still got 'em.

3 suspensions for the Isles vs Pens game but none to the Bruins. oh I forgot that the son of head NHL disciplinary(Colin Campbell) plays for the Bruins and he was the one pummelling Pyatt with his elbow pad. 
Nobody got sucker punched or anything like in the other game. Most of the fighting in Boston happened after some chippy stick work, or chirping by Montreal. I didn't see Pens/Isles, so I can't really comment on that, but from what I heard it was a totally different type of game with some really nasty, unnecessary stuff.
I'm also pretty sure I heard Pyatt say that he didn't even notice he was getting hit with the pad...
Don't worry, boys. The Red Wings gave Bahhhston a decent pummeling. Assholes gaping now.

Ultimately though, Detroit was the much better team in both games, and has everything they need to make a cup run. Very nice puck control, exceptional movement off the puck... the players are so in tune, so familiar with each other. It's definitely a fun team to watch.
This is what happens with amazing ownership and management; you go get amazing players, and then you establish continuity. Good stuff by Detroit, really good.
So Peter the Great is done again. This guy lives and breathes the game, he has such a profound love for hockey... and I love that he tried one more time. He just wants to play! Anyway, all the best to Forsberg; I watched both of his games, and while he certainly still has the hands and that 'all world' on ice awareness, sometimes the body just says no.

Campbell. Can't hit a guy with an elbow pad. Isn't there a rule where you can't fight in the last minutes of a game so both clubs should of had something(ban, fine, etc...) Not sure about that one but can a goalie pass the red line to fight? Another rule that applies to players but not sure if it applies to goalies but both didn't have their jersey ties up.
