6-0! If only they had Rask in net, I would've had the shutout points for the pool. Sens are helpless, just like the Leafs. Honestly, if one player from the Leafs had to be an all-star, then I'd choose Grabovski.
Definitely. The guy is finally putting together a proper season... you could always see the natural ability, but he's finally found some consistency.

It'll be interesting how this team fares in the second half. My Leaf friends have suffered enough... but until our draft picks have been cashed, I can't help but hope they continue to struggle.

Bruins get the second-rounder too, right?

Zuccarello? Well, 9 games, 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists)...aaaaand he scored a shootout winner a couple nights ago. Decent, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a guru though.

Just the 1st rounder this year, Max. We had Toronto's 1 & 2 last draft...

The season ending injuries to Gorges and Markov are going to end up killing the Habs in the long run. Their 2 best defensemen. :sigh:
Very harsh indeed, but Wisniewski is a huge pick up. He'll put up a ton of points.

Yeah, and be a -30 in the process
He's been a + player every year of his career except for last year (-5) and this year. (Edit: was a 0 in 19 games as a rookie)

Hard to fault a guy because he was playing for the NYI (and a Ducks team that was undergoing significant changes - especially on D).

He's obviously a huge PP contributor as well, which can make a players +/- a little misleading.

He's a point a game player with Montreal so far (and he's +1). :D

He was a -18 for the Islanders. No other Defenseman on that team even came close to that.

I don't buy that excuse at all. He's far from solid in his own end

The only good to come out of this is that Subban and Weber are finally getting chanes to play regularly.

And the fact that Max Pac has made his way up from Hamilton and playing regularly.

They have a -12 dman, and nobody is better than -5.

Man, he logged (i believe) the most minutes on the entire team, for the 3rd worst defensive and 3rd worst offensive team in the league. He put up 13/21 of his points on the pp. Not to mention you're going to have a bunch of minuses tacked on at the end of games; the Isles lose a lot of games, Wisniewski would always be on at the end of close games, it wouldn't surprise me if he were on for at least 4-5 empty net goals.

There's a set of circumstances involved that will yield a +/- that isn't indicative of a players value.

I'm not saying that he's a shut down d-man or anything remotely like that - obviously he's not. But by saying he's going to finish -30, you make it sound like you just traded for one of the worst defensive d-men in the league. You definitely didn't; he'll be serviceable in his own end, and he could be a real force offensively.

You picked up a very solid player midseason, a guy who hasn't had much stability in his career, and at 26 he's likely only scratched the surface of his offensive potential.

Considering the circumstances, I think the Canadians did pretty well. I'd have gladly taken Wisniewski on the Bruins, if he fit into our teams budget (which he definitely does not).

Oh God, Jimmy Howard took a puck to the knee under the padding in an awkward play. Lets hope he's OK because this is the last injury we need.

    Sooooooo...

All-star captains are Lidstrom and Staal. Woot woot.

People are calling for Crosby to skip the all-star game as a protest to "head-shots". He's already bitching everyday about the hits he received, so I wouldn't be surprised if he skipped out.

It's all a bit funny, I think. How can this guy be so vocal when two of his own teammates (Cooke and Malkin) were let off easy after two dreadful hits (on Savard and Mitchell, respectively)?

That's partly why I dislike the clown. He also complains about slashing yet he dishes those out all the time.

We played horribly tonight, and started out on the wrong foot with MacDonald screwing up twice in a matter of minutes. We really miss Cleary and Homer in these games driving to the crease, disrupting Fleury.

He's already said he wants to play and if he can't play he wants to be there in whatever capacity possible. This was confirmed yesterday by Brendan Shanahan who said he was surprised to receive a phone call from Crosby asking if there were things he could do if he wasn't cleared to play.

As for head shots. I think they should all be illegal whether intentional or not. And yes I do agree that Matt Cooke is a dirty player and should have been suspended for as long as Savard was out. And I don't like Savard either.
