But hey, game seven in Detroit, Michigan. Talk about a massive influx of money to local bars, local resorts, and the Joe itself. Plus IF we win, the parade should be on Sunday, so that means more revenue for downtown restaurants, bars, other establishments, mass transit, taxes, et cetera. Even in the suburbs. Such an event will raise quite a lot of revenue even in a depleted economy. So that might be a blessing in disguise. Just better WIN.
Apparently all the bars are packed already in downtown Detroit, so many of them are closing their doors at 5pm. :D This is absolutely nuts.

And they're even doing it in Ann Arbor, too.
AWESOME, I bet they were all disappointed.
All hail Crosbeak, the Stanley Cup champion Captain, the best player ever. Wayne has nothing on Cindy.
DA!
youngest captain to lift lord stanley :D....keep it that way sid ! you're great.
:agree:
What do you have against Gretzky?
He's gay and his son looks like a woman, and he coaches the best team to soon be in Alberta.

What do you have against Gretzky?
a) League gave him special treatment. Game 6 against the Leafs, 1993 Western Conference Finals, Gretzky high-sticks Dave Andreychuk and causes him to draw blood. Should result in 5 minute major (back then), but referee Kerry Fraser turns a blind eye and ignores Andreychuk's bleeding face. Gretzky didn't get a penalty and then he scored the tying goal to send the game into overtime and even the series at 3-3. Eventually they'd win Game 7 and go on to the Stanley Cup Finals.

b) The betting scandal. Both himself and his wife were acquitted of charges and they both threw Rick Tocchet under the bus to take the blame. It's obviously more damaging to the game to have someone with a legacy like Gretzky to get busted in a betting scandal than it is for someone like Rick Tocchet, I guess.

c) He doesn't want Phoenix to move to Hamilton, basically where he was born. He's losing money like crazy in Phoenix, and Balsillie will offer him some sort of cash relief with his bid for the team. He still refuses to get behind the bid to give Canada another hockey team. His dad Walter does some great charitable work in Hamilton, God bless him. Too bad Wayne would rather shit on his roots and live out in the desert.

d) Wayne called me on the phone and told me I was a faggot, so I killed his dad, Walter, whom I just spoke highly of in the last paragraph. I killed him and I burned him.

As you can see, it's all very personal, Tahir. :D

And for God sakes why does Atlanta and South Florida have a hockey team?? Blow them both up and have a dispersal draft
Why does Tennessee have a team? Why does California have three teams? Florida has two. Georgia has one. I'll let North Carolina slide. So that's seven teams in Southern markets...Canada only has six.

You ever have Barbecue in Tennessee??? Then you would know why they have a hockey team :D

Well, as far as California goes, I can understand the three teams, as they are all having varying degrees of success, even the L.A. Kings, who are building a potential super squad. Plus, they've been around since the 60's, so you have to cut them some slack. Marcel Dionne FTW!!!

Boh. Those purple and gold jerseys are pretty sick though.

There is an article in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. Zetterberg was quoted as saying "Crosby is disrespectful" referring to the fact that after Penguins won the Stanley Cup, Lidstrom went to shake Crosby's hand but Crosby ignored him.

"I consider that that is something one should do. I don't know why he didn't do it, it's disrespectful."

Lidstrom is the best defenseman since Bobby Orr. Crosby has a long ways to go to being anything close to Lemiuex, Gretzky or Gordie.

if this is true ... it's bad for sid..but i understand him for a reason, he has been booo'ed,cursed in those 4 games, and even babcock said at the end of the game "good game, good leadership" in a mock way of course.
