Well, congrats Pens fans, they made it matter when they could and Fluery was particularly good today. They probably outplayed us.

But I love how these fags on NBC are talking about "invincibility Pens" and "Kronwall who deserves to be hit." Throughout these playoffs all the talk has been about the Pens without a doubt. Kronwall makes clean hits unlike Roberts, so I don't understand that comparison. NBC are clearly biased against our team because they talk up the Pens like they're the fucking 1994 Pens. Well they are NOT... not even close.

I'm juts glad all the media bias is for the Pens because it is a detriment to their cause. Yeah, yeah yeah, Crosby is so great, he scored two goals tonight, congrats Pens fans. But he is NO FUCKING MARIO. Do not even disrespect your own legend like that.

    Good luck next time.

Mats Sundin has been awarded the Mark Messier leadership award.

The Mark Messier Leadership Award recognizes an individual as a superior leader within their sport, and as a contributing member of society. The award honors an individual who leads by positive example through on-ice performance, motivation of team members and a dedication to community activities and charitable causes.

Finally got to see a game and it was indeed a great game. We really need to keep the puck on the boards more often and quit the lapses like on Franzen's power play goal. And Hal Gill needs to watch the damn cross checking. Roberts was particularly clean tonight as was Kronwall. I'll have to congratulate Gary on not doing anything stupid. It's about time Crosby came out to play this series and it was good to see him "get off" tonight. I was almost sure the Red Wings were going to tie it up at the end.

As for the NBC comments, they said it seemed that Detroit was invincible after the first two games. Which is probably true, I mean the Pens straight up got owned. The Pens are getting a lot of media because of their youth and the popularity of their young stars. Sorry about that. It comes with the territory, I'm sure if they had things their way the media would be all about Detroit. Still I don't think anyone has ever said Detroit isn't a great team, in fact I seem to remember a few analysts calling a sweep after game 2, but that is neither here nor there.

As for the Mario comparison, I don't think any Pittsburgh fan will tell you that Crosby is better than Mario. So I don't really understand where you get the "disrespecting your legend" thing from. Maybe it was something the announcers said during the post game.

Who knows maybe one day Crosby will be better or as good as but he isn't now. Crosby has even come out and said that Mario is a true great. All in all, this game was what was expected out of this final. Up and down play, lots of skating, and lots of hits with a few big plays deciding the outcome.

Andy, I don't think any hockey fan thinks that Sid Crosby is on Mario's level at this stage. However, the ignorant t.v. types and ignorant money-grubbing sponsors have to puff something up, and Sid is about the best choice.

You'll be grateful after next game, too. He was one of my favourites when he was a Leaf player. Roberts does more than everyone gives him credit for, and he adds that veteran leadership role in the locker room that the Pens do not get from Crosby.

EDIT: And Luc Bourdon of the Vancouver Canucks died at age 21.

Actually, there are a couple Pens fans who do have that opinion. But if they do hold that opinion, they were either too young to remember the Mario Pens team or they just are not true hockey fans. Probably just Pittsburgh sports fans in general.

But yeah, the media does have their mouths on Crosby and I'm frankly getting tired of hearing about how great he is. It just makes it worse that I live in Pennsylvania.

Andy, if you're sick of the assinine media coverage around the Pens don't forget that you still possess one very large Anal Cannon. Use it wisely & let 'er rip.

I think it was Tennyson who put it best when he wrote:
    Cannon to right of them,
    Cannon to left of them,
    Cannon in front of them
    Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
    Boldly they rode and well,
    Into the jaws of Death,
    Into the mouth of Hell
    Rode the six hundred.
