Well, of course, that explains it.

Silly me, I should have figured that out for myself
you know what I mean. He reminded them of Guy Lafleur. He did show glimpses of flower power and for them that was enough. They didn't care about the many giveaways, 1 good game in 4 or the media controversy. His charisma and play of the week plays blinded them. Saku didn't speak French(he does actually), didn't say hello to some kids during practise, got in a fight with one of their own(Ribeiro) and stayed for a while with the habs while Damphousse and Turgeon got traded instead.

Why are they upset about Turgeon? Just because he's French Canadian?

The guy was there for three seasons and was injured for two.

He only played a few games in the third year as well.

That just sounds like a bunch of nonsense from those fans.

Ohhhh.........Pierre Turgeon. Don't remind me. At least damphousse actually did something meaningful in a Montreal jersey. I loved that dude

That decent year was the only full one he played with us. He was great with the Sabres, Islanders and even the Blues.
Mark, that was a panic move by that regime. People knew that he wouldn't react well to being in Montreal. So they decide to make him a captain as well. They gave up a lot to get him and they gave up too much when they traded him away. I swear the residents of Montreal would be happy with a 10 win team if it were full of francophones

Oh, I just noticed a very disturbing trend here.

Mark, see if you can tell me what all these players have in common.

    Chris Chelios
    John Leclair
    Mathieu Schneider
    Craig Conroy
    and potentially
    Christopher Higgins
    Ryan Mcdonagh
