Well, I will say this.

Bob Gainey certainly changed the culture of the team in one day.

They need another defensemen though, and find a way to re-sign Kovalev.

If they somehow re-sign Kovalev, these are what the lines could look like

gionta-gomez-cammalleri
kovalev-plekanec-kostitsyn
kostitsyn-lapierre-latendresse
pacioretty-metropolit-kostopolous

I will admit, if they can re-sign kovalev, that does look better than last year's model

That doesn't look too bad at all.

The first two lines and Jacques Martin would be able to get you into the playoffs alone.

But yeah, you need another good defenseman.

    Yeah.

I'm trying to forget, although being where I am from it is almost impossible, that this team last year was an 8th seed who got owned by Boston in the regular season and playoffs.

So maybe this isn't so bad after all

They sure did spend a lot of money, though.

Funny thing is, they still have cap room. They need to get kovalev re-signed, or another 2nd line winger, and a stay at home defenseman

Kovy is done apparently. Gainey said another D and that's it. I think we'll give a chance to Pacioretty to play on the 1st 2 lines.

Laraque won't play every game. Sergei or another player if we trade that trouble maker could replace him once in a while when we don't face Boston or Toronto. :p I put Pacioretty on the 1st line because I want at least one big body on each line. Mr. X will be important. Beauchemin, Scuderi, maybe Seidenberg, maybe Boynton(not sure how he's doing now) or another player acquired in a trade.
