Canada win in sudden death :depressed
:weee:

I didn't really like this Canadian group because they came in really cocky, and that never really happens. Usually the team keeps to themselves.

Canada was complacent when they lost to the Swedes last week in the round robin, but it was deserved. They finally realized they weren't alone in hockey supremacy and started playing to their potential.

I've always held the opinion that Canada and Sweden have the best hockey. The Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia can challenge for it, but they're not as consistent as us.

I see a great future for Canada and Sweden with these youth players. Congrats on the win.

Btw, I heard that the guy who scored the winning goal was from Mississauga, I should have "taken care" of him when I was up there :D

Pretty much, eh? There's a reason why Detroit is the best team in the league right now. I'd add Russia to that group as well because they're usually a powerhouse when it comes to hockey at the Olympics and the like.

You probably could've ordered a hit for that Mississauga boy with all these mafiosi over here so you could keep your hands clean. :D

Ye that sucked. Sweden had the momentum going for them there but then we let in a soft goal. :yuck:
Anyway, looking at the game as a whole Canada are deserved winners, congrats

I like hockey, I really do and whenever I get the chance I try to watch it on TV. But there's this thing that's really making it hard for me... I know someone scored a goal only because everyone raises their hands in the air, I never actually catch the puck going inside. That irritates the hell out of me because I have a kick-ass eye-sight.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is that normal hockey viewer behaviour? :D

Well, it is indeed tough to follow sometimes. But if you watch closely, and see the movements of the player, it's not bad.

But I've played a decade of hockey, so I'm used to the motions.

It can happen, but most of the time I catch it going in. Then again I've been watching hockey since I was a kid so I am used to following the puck. I don't know if that plays any factor though, so maybe you're just blind :D

    edit:

@Andy: Have you ever played 'bandy'?

Watching it regulary for years probably makes it easier to follow the games. However I, as a non-regular viewer, wouldn't mind having the puck in some gay-flourescent color. :D

BTW, has any of you see how the big boys do it over in Russia? :D

Yeah, too bad he'll never win a Stanley Cup. He insists that he's not going anywhere once the trade deadline rolls around, and this is pretty much his last chance at a Cup. Whatever...typical Leaf problems...poor management...poor treatment of legends (Sittler, Salming, and now Sundin).

On a lighter note, these were my favourite commercials, growing up a Leaf fan and all.

When Fox Network used to televise hockey, they used to put a glowing thing around the puck, and when it was really fast it would leave this glow trail. It was real cheeseball stuff, ask Andy.

And like Andy said, if you keep watching, you'll know what's going on with the puck. Every player can essentially only do so much, and that's when you know.

nive av, the Nordiques had one hell of a team before they left. I miss the rivalry.

Nash's goal was great but the goalie gave him the puck in the end.

Thanks, I kinda miss them too because I hate what they became (I hate the Avs). I don't know what you mean by giving him the puck, from what I see he did all on his own and he completely fooled the goalie.
