In reality, what has Cassano done this past season that surpasses Mutu? Just playing matches? Because that's all I see right now. The fact of the matter is we do not know which player will turn out better for Juventus because if the Romanian regains his 2002 form he will be one of the best players in Serie A while Cassano under Capello could work magic as well. We just do not know what player would be the better option because Mutu was free and does not cost us much while Cassano would cost a lot to obtain. Why don't we just wait for a year to see what Mutu can provide instead of dishing him out to Roma along with loads of money for Cassano? Just doesn't make much sense to me.

I completely understand what Moggi MIGHT be thinking, and it's clear something is going to happen within the next few days. It would make a lot of sense to buy Cassano now, reuinte him with Capello and turn him into the next Del Piero at Juventus, or at least try. I fully understand what you lot are thinking, however, I just disagree with the idea from an economical standpoint. We received Mutu on a free and has performed very well this summer for us and for his National team....I just think that is enough to give him a chance at Juve to see what he's capable of. And if he regains his form and becomes just as good of a player as Cassano, we will be kicking ourselves after we buy the Bari kid. Think of this Cassano deal as something that could turn out redundant.

Are you not with it here? Nobody is calling you a fool because you adore Cassano, quite the contrary. I'd like to see Mutu prove what he could do for us. But he's still a risky proposition. Even before he was implicated in all the drugs, he wasn't exactly wowing over at Chelsea. Even if I think Mourinho gave him a sort of raw deal as the new king in town who didn't ask for him on his squad.

But because he is a risk, other teams will see Mutu as a risk if traded to them -- certainly hampering our ability to get a great deal for him.

So I am not really opinionated either way on this one. I think Cassano could improve a lot under Capello, but Juve is much bigger than Capello. Mutu has proven himself to be a great player once, but that was two trades and a "conviction" ago.

If they want to get the next DP in to Juve, it's not Cassano that's for sure.
What about Rej Volpato ? Is he any good?
or has anyone heard of Eder Bau..he's playing with Triestina and is doing fantastic but what i'm trying to say is..is there anyone who's a forward and is young that can take DP's place like the lethal finisher he once was? The only person who I believe that is up to it is Pazzini, I believe if he joins Juve, he will turn things around and make it for the best of them.

I'm not sure how you could use Mutu's bad spell at Chelsea against him when only a year earlier he was one of the best players in Serie A. That is not exactly fair to be honest.

We've got Miccoli who doesnt want to play for us.
Zalayeta who wants playing time elsewhere.
Del Piero who cant play at the level we expect him to.


And yet, we're looking at trading Mutu, who is the best of that lot. Especially considering Chiellini is already part of the deal. It just doesnt make sense from a logical or talent standpoint, because Cassano and Mutu to me would co-exist just as good, if not better and more importantly, for a longer period of time than Cassano - Del Piero.

There is no doubt in my mind that Mutu will be the player he once was. He's rejuvenated and ready to go, to prove himself once again. That hunger alone is good enough, given his talent. Clearly, he deserves a chance, but its like I said, only Capello holds the blame for this one because Moggi has always been a fan of Adrian.
