in this series no, if they played a 100 games over the next year, I'd still expect Boston to win 70-80, it's a bad match-up for Dallas. however I think some of the teams Dallas knocked out are watching how the Celtics are wearing out Luka and having some regrets.
Yep, the West is much deeper but there's no doubt that Boston have a very strong team. You do wonder how it would have gone against someone else. It's often the case of ifs and buts though. When it came to the crunch were the West teams really that strong in the playoff arena?

In a Boston - Denver series I'd give the edge to Denver due to Celtics not really having a response to Jokic in defense, especially with Porzingis health situation these playoffs. Wolves did Mavs and Celtics a big favor knocking them out.

Doncic must heard all the talk of his bad defence in game 2, so was trying more in game 3. But not in a smart way lol, because he was bumbling into attackers and got 4 fouls in 4th quarter alone! And gets fouled out 4 minutes left in 2-3 pt game.

But yeah this whole series been totally a mismatch tactically and player personnel.

Everyone can watch and see what works against Doncic, wearing him out by attacking him 48 minutes. But how can they do it? Because they have 5 out elite offense were 4 of the 5 are all-star level players who can create their own shots and drive at will.

Not many teams who can say they have that deep of a starting lineup. Because it's not 1-2 stars trying to switch on him to hunt him. All 4 can attack him on the bounce, and he can't sleep on Horford in corner who don't miss (Horford and Hauser got so many open 3s cuz Luka was on sidelines crying to refs about calls).

Vs Clippers he rested and slept on Amir Coffey (and Kawhi missed most series), Harden and PG13 didn't switch on him as much, they fought over screens.

Similar thing with OKC, Doncic just defended post players or Dort, Shai wasn't allowed to switch on him, and Jaylen Williams, 2nd best shot creator, had bad series offensively.

Vs Wolves he rested on NAW/Kyle Anderson non scoring, or Mcdaniels streaky shooting. Ant only got couple drives a game on Doncic, instead of Celtics nonstop ability to attack with 4 guys.

Kidd fucked up with that time out...Mavs were flying came to -3 and this idiot called time out...Luka was frustrated with that decision (like he should be) and after that he got fouled out.

Another good day to be ESPN reporter or American basketball "fan" so they can shit all over Luka once again...he really is somekind of LeBron for all the shit he gets.

He should remain focused on the game and not be in sidelines complaining while its active play tho. Left team 4 vs 5 doing that too much. This is a finals not regular season. Every possesion matters. Needs to be focused and not hot headed.

4 of his 6 fouls were like frustration fouls he could avoided, just bumbling in or reaching for no reason. He fouled Derrick White from their halves inbound, so silly.

Tatum fouled luka on a drive but wasn't called. Frustrating but you play on. That's what celtics did, luka pushed off alot and Celtics played on. Or worse decision of game, pj Washington hacked tatum on his dunking hand and no foul call. But tatum just played on.

Doncic being able to be worn out and targeted defensively has been a thing for years narrative wise. As is Celtics knowing be physical on him and you rile him up crying to refs. Its all part of the gameplans. He needs to mentally mature instead crying to refs mid play and improve his defence for future finals so he can't be hunted.

You brought up Lebron, he will get Lebron type attention for his insane offense. But Bron was elite two way player who was menace on D. Doncic can't be that, but need to become atleast OK on D and chill out mentally and cut down crybaby act.

This is why I can’t take NBA seriously, refs swing games way too much.

There's videos all of his 6 fouls. They not even debatable or iffy types, it was just clumsy bad defence by him. He just running attackers down and pushing them to ground or reaching.

There was 1-2 calls missed for each side in this game but otherwise it was OK. It definitely was not a game decided by ref calls.

it’s the playoffs, the finals no less. Can’t be calling weak fouls like that.

They not weak lol, they are actually fouls.

He is moving to intercept Brown who is too fast and shifty for him, tries to take charge. But its dead obvious blocking foul, why? Because his feet litterally moving while trying to intercept.

Has to be still to take a charge. It's text book call.

Most of his fouls were so clumsy.

Even his coach called it straight, he has to be able to guard when they targeting you:

Here are all 6 fouls:

there's literally no wiggle room on them. He was just being clumsy playing bad defense. He thinks because he is a superstar he should be allowed to do silly obvious fouls.

You guys kept yapping about how strong the West coast teams are. Now an East coast team bout to sweep they ass

The west is stronger then the East, but Celtics been the best team all season. Not because they have the best 1-2 players, but because they have the strongest 1 to 6 players, all all-star calibre and defensive specialists. Deep well rounded team. Brad Stevens built this team perfectly.

The nba teams who let them get Jrue holiday for Rob Williams + Brogdon (they injured every playoffs), should feel ashamed. Worst of all you get 2 1st and PorzinGod for fucking Marcus Smart lol

Like the upgrade on those trades is insane. They have now nonstop rotation of high quality team first oriented 2 way players in 48 minutes. No real drop off. Remember previously in playoffs Rob Williams and smart defended well but neither had any offense so Celtics struggled in crunch time.

But like Jay said, even if Celtics are stacked, its about match ups. Denver would give them more even fight for sure.
