The kid has a very large contract and his production so far has done nothing to justify it. He's actually regressed in the past few years. They could be in real danger of losing Towns when he becomes a free agent. The problem is that they are so far over the cap, there isn't much they can do.

Looks Like Kemba Walker is going to Boston
yah, but not just Wolves should be wanting to move on, for his own sake Wiggins too should look for a move even if he has to sacrifice some part of those 30m/season. those are just the next 3 years on his contract, he is still 24, there's a long career to be had and many contracts to be signed. atm his contract is the joke of the league right behind Paul Pierce shitting himself and the 3 pointer of Ben Simmons

You can't restructure your contract to take less money in the NBA. It is not allowed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I don’t think wiggins gives a shit. He’s getting paid max money, all he has to do is show up. He’s a lazy player and just wants to collect his check.

@CR 7 where did you see the Kemba to Boston news?

I just saw it on ESPN. ANd it is all over the Boston Media. they current have 25 million in cap space, and they are going to renounce Terry Rozier, so that will get them to the max slot.

Hmm, idk how I feel about that. Kemba should be an upgrade over Irving.

Irving is the better player but Kemba isnt the nut case that Kyrie is. might be just what the Celtics need. but they also lose Horford so they still get worse. key for them is trading Hayward for something valuable, if they manage to do that they could compete in the east again

His contract is probably 2nd only to Chris Paul as far as being the most unmoveable contract in the league.

The problem is that no one will give anything up for Hayward. He’s another case of a player stuck with a big contract. In this case, it’s not all his fault since he broke his leg and hasn’t been the same since.

Boston’s better off being patient with Hayward.

problem with waiting for him is, they also have Tatum and Brown, and none of the 3 has shown to be a capable PF to fit them all in the same lineup. and with Horford (and probably Morris as well) gone, they dont have any quality bigs left either. Ainge really played himself here

Yeah, Ainge has done some stupid moves. His rebuild pretty much failed so he’s at point zero and has to start over. I say build around Tatum and Brown.

I would say that he needs to be critiqued for the moves that he didn't make. I remember saying on this thread a couple of years ago that you simply cannot hang on to all of those draft picks. He turned down Jaylen Brown for Kawhi Leonard. Granted, Leonard was coming off that season where he only played 9 games, but anyone could tell that the atmosphere there was one where Leonard wanted no part of the Spurs anymore. So part of it was the injury, another part of it was that Kawhi was, under no circumstance, going to set foot on the court for them again. Why wouldn't you take a shot at someone like Leonard, who had so much to prove. Boston could have maintained the same type of load management that Toronto did for him this year.

I agree, it’s what he didn’t do. Stockpiled draft picks and young players without turning them into valuable assets needed to win now. He got Hayward but that didn’t pan out.

I have to say. Even though I catch a lot of flak for being the longest tenured Lakers fan here on this forum, I can't think of a better place to talk basketball
:agree: I go on the nba subreddit but discussion wise it’s pretty bad. Too many people

The more I think about this, the more D'Lo to the Lakers makes more sense. Lebron will be 35, and will be 37 at the end of the contract.

Davis would be 29, and D'lo and Kuzma would be 26. They would still have some semblance of a Big 3 even after Lebron retires.

@Osman It's been reported that the T-Wolves tried to do a Wiggins for D'Lo trade.

Come on man.
Lol we been aggressive on the D Lo front. Either sign and trade deals that are rare nowadays, or just dump enough cap space elsewhere (Teague, Dieng) enough to offer D lo his max if Nets decline his option.

But the wiggins angle is unusual lol.

Only heard possible Wiggins deals to OKC or other teams that may be desperate for a young reclamation project (Grizzlies, or Raptors for Canada angle and if they lose Kawhi).

Pretty much, it's a question of laziness/not liking BBall enough, horrendous BBall IQ (all the stupid contested midrange). Because let me tell you, he IS talented. When he is driven to prove a point (vs OKC, Cavs, Raptors), he looks like a legit plus player.

But all the fundamentals are broken with him.

I wish they traded him to bulls in the Butler trade instead of Lavine, that kid had alot of heart extreme hardworking drive besides the explosive talent.
