How does that help New Orleans?

They get KD and maybe convince him to stay. He gets to start over and win a ring on his own.

Warriors get to replace KD with AD. Although if I’m the Warriors I try to keep KD, he’s a much better fit and player in general.

There would be little to no chance that he would stay in New Orleans. Who could they surround him with? They are going to trade a 25 year old franchise player signed through next year for a 31 year old franchise player who can opt out after this season?

As far as what the Raptors are doing with Kawhi. The Raptors are a MUCH better team than the Pelicans. That doesn't even make sense. And there is no guarantee that Kawhi will stay there.

Right, it’s a risk and sometimes they pay off. I’m not saying it’s gonna happen, I’m saying I want it to happen. And even though he’s 31, KD has plenty of years left in the tank.

No he's not a much better scorer than AD. Are you kidding? The same AD who ranks third all time in Player Efficiency rating? The same AD who is averaging 29 and 13 per game? And who is a FAR superior defensive player?

KD imo is the 2nd best scorer in the league after Harden. He can pull up from anywhere on the floor, can drive, can do whatever the hell he wants to. And he has to share the ball with Curry and Klay. Dude is literally unstoppable.

They are basically identical in regards to FG and 3 pt % percentages, and AD only takes 1 more shot per game than KD. But AD gets more rebounds, blocks and steals, and more importantly, is 5 years younger than Durant.

I’m sure he’d do fine, any player would.

But KD sees the ball a lot less even though the number of shots is the same. If you wanna go into advanced stats, KD’s net rating is almost triple that of AD. 11 to 4

They’re both great players and similar enough but KD is just an animal when it comes to offense. Not putting AD down, it’s just what I think sets them apart.

That isn't exactly all AD's fault, is it? And let me know what caliber of players that AD has had to play with as teammates that are comparable to the likes of Westbrook, Curry, Klay

Bottom line, I'm taking AD over KD, for his all around ability on both ends of the floor. And that is no disrespect to Durant. None at all.

KD is no slouch on the defensive end either Serge. I can understand picking AD over KD based on age and potential alone, but I think KD doesn't need to do as much on the Warriors. Remember KD on the Thunder?

I somehow hope the Magic are able to get Zion Williamson.

I'm going to say this again, and there is more than enough of a sample size going on here.

AD is the 3rd highest ranked player ever in regards to Player Efficiency Rating. 1st is MJ, 2nd is Lebron. Say what you want about KD, and I'm not disparaging him, but 25 year old KD was not as good as 25 year old AD on both ends of the court.

That stat alone should give an indication of how good this young man really is.

Yes, KD was a better scorer at 25 than AD was. However, the difference in defense between the two makes up for that.

AD has the talent to be in that company but like ALC, despite the expectations of it, he is not in the level of the mount Rushmore level players of today's NBA. He is constantly hyped to be MVP level player and has the tools to do it all, but it's not just about being in small market lesser team. He simply has been underwhelming in terms of impacting wins as first option (he gets his stats but just seems to phone it in lots of games last season and this one). In a way like KD wouldn't, even when he was younger. AD is overrated a bit on current impact because of it.


And I kind of get it, however polished your game is, its harder for a big to carry a whole teams offense like a guard/wing does, when you have to be fed. Only exception amongst Bigs is basically Jokic, and that's basically because he is the whole offensive system of Denver.

i dont see a trade for AD going down this season, NO wouldnt have any reason to do so because the best offer(s) can only come in the summer. from our (Lakers) perspective, its also better to wait for the summer. we have 38M in cap space (enough for even KDs max), and then after we use up the cap space, we still can make that offer for him. Boston can offer the best package, but it will be interesting to see which team is actually willing to give up the most

Ingram, Kuzma, Ball all have star level potential. They've all shown it in flashes, and they cost next to nothing at the moment. Zubac and Hart can also contribute significantly. Zubac has been a beast for us over the last 5 weeks. We're going to have cap space to sign a max free agent this summer, deal with that. Lebron + KD/Kawhi/Klay/etc + the young core is a title contender that is only going to get better over time.

yep, i preferred 2 maxes + keep the team together since Magic announced that plan 2 years ago. it would be an incredibly deep team especially since you will have guys wanting to play here on the cheap for the minimum trying to win a chip. and if KD is that guy, we are essentially favorite no.1 as we would get better on the Warriors behalf. but if AD is the end goal, i would be happy with that scenario as well, depending on who we will have to give up. for example, Lonzo is a must keep for me. Kuzma is a close 2nd. but would Ingram, Hart, Wagner, Zubac + 3-4 1st rounders be enough? i think they ask for atleast Kuzma additionally, and depending on Bostons offer, they want Ball as well. i would pass on that tbh. one injury from AD and we are the 2018 Cavs, with a 2 years older James, minus Love.

I think you forgot Embiid
